⚠️ Grass Seed Warning for Dog Owners ⚠️
We thought we'd make another post about the dangers of grass seeds, as we've shared information on this before. Unfortunately, we've recently seen another case that highlights just how serious they can be.
Pedro came in to see us after a grass seed became lodged in his nose. Using our Rhinoscope, we were able to carefully locate and remove the grass seed, allowing Pedro to recover comfortably. Grass seeds can easily work their way into the nose, ears, eyes, paws, and even the throat, causing significant pain and potentially leading to serious complications if not treated promptly.
After walks, especially through long grass, take a few moments to check your dog carefully. Watch out for signs such as excessive sneezing, nose rubbing, nasal discharge, coughing, head shaking, limping, or persistent licking of the paws.
If you notice any of these symptoms or think your pet may have picked up a grass seed, please contact your vet as soon as possible. Early treatment can make all the difference.
Please help us spread awareness by sharing this post. Keeping an eye out for grass seeds could save your pet from a painful experience. 🐶💚
