Splints 🦴

With all this hard ground splints have been riff!

Here’s an example of a splint I treated with laser therapy ⬇️.
This splint was lasered within a day of coming up and went down over 3-laser sessions alongside cold hosing daily. We did a total of 6-sessions of laser to ensure maximum healing 🙌🏼✨

Laser therapy is offered separately to usual physiotherapy treatment for issues like this. Enquire for more 💚

Evening appointments!!

Hi all, for those of you that can only do evenings please can you book ahead so I can make sure I can get you in! The diary is looking busy 🙌🏼

For those of you that are more flexible, if you can do a morning or in the day that would be very helpful so I can save evening appointments for those that need them.

🐍 Adder bites 🐍

Update - we have had dogs bitten on Loughrigg Fell, Scout Scar and Staveley.

Adder season has arrived. They particularly love this warm, sunny weather we are experiencing.

Please be extra vigilant when walking through long grass, bracken and woodland, where it is advisable to keep your dog on a lead.

If your dog should be bitten by an adder you should do the following:
1) Call us immediately. We will arrange to meet you at the Windermere practice where we can use anti venom to treat your dog.
2) If possible, carry your dog back to the car. This will help reduce the venom spreading around the body.
3) Cold water bathing the bite wound can be effective in reducing swelling.

Had a great time today learning acupressure techniques on horses 🙌🏼🐴

As I am not a vet, I am unable to practise acupuncture but I am able to use acupressure which can help contribute to relaxation, pain relief and helping the nervous system along with a whole host of other benefits!

Doing this course has allowed me to add more skills to my toolkit to help your horses. The skills are also transferable, so you will definitely see me using these on your dogs too 🙌🏼✨

A little insight into what I do at the vets…I love a good TPLO rehab! 🦴🐶
