Found a tick on your pet? 🐾

Using a tick remover tool is a safe and effective way to remove it by following these steps:

1️⃣Choose the correct size tick remover for the tick attached to your pet.
2️⃣Carefully slide the remover under the tick, as close to the skin as possible.
3️⃣Swiftly swivel the remover clockwise until the tick detaches.

Once removed, dispose of the tick safely and check the area to make sure no parts have been left behind 🙅‍♀️

While cats may seem independent, warm weather can increase the risk of dehydration - especially for older cats, kittens, and those with underlying health conditions 🥵

Here are some tips to help keep your cat cool and comfortable in the heat:

🫗Provide fresh water throughout the day
🥣Try multiple water bowls around the house
🌥️Keep cool, shaded areas available
🥫Wet food can help increase water intake
🏠Encourage pets to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day

Some cats only show subtle signs when they're unwell. Keep an eye out for signs such as lethargy, panting, drooling or loss of appetite.

🔍Keep a close eye on your rabbit's hygiene and living environment, especially during warmer months. Regularly check for any signs of soiled fur, wounds, or unusual behaviour.

✅Prevention is key: ensure your rabbit and their living space is clean and dry.

🔥❗It's Going To Be A Hot One Today❗🔥

Please remember to keep your dogs safe in the heat 🌞 here is the lovely Tilly, who belongs to our wonderful receptionist Sam 💕 Tilly was walked early this morning whilst it was still cool to reduce any risk heatstroke.

🌡️Even temperatures that feel manageable to us can be dangerous for dogs - especially when it comes to walks. Hot pavements can burn paws, and dogs can quickly become overheated, which can sadly be life-threatening.

Here are some other steps Sam is going to take to keep Tilly cool during the heatwave:

🫗Always have fresh water available
🥵Avoid pavements and strenuous exercise
🛻Never leave dogs in parked cars
❄️Provide cool, shaded areas to rest

If your dog shows signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse, contact us immediately.
