🐾 GET TO KNOW OUR TEAM! 🐾

You may know us as the friendly faces who look after your pets, but there’s a whole team behind the scenes helping to keep your furry family members happy, healthy and well cared for. 💕

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing you to the wonderful people who make up our team with an interview style round up!

We start with our lovely nurse Harriet and here's what she had to say!🥰

What is your favourite animal you've treated?
💚I really love working with all animals. I'm really quick to volunteer for any unusual species. I have a few interesting stories such as my famous JV Beaver rescue! However, I probably most enjoyed my time treating the wonderful Donkeys during my time at the Donkey Sanctuary!

What's your favourite part of being a Registered Veterinary Nurse?
💚I've always loved animals and found a joy in being able to help them. From little things like clipping an ingrown nail or bandaging a wound to critical care work. Even those late nights sat on the floor of a kennel with a sick inpatient makes me proud to be a nurse and glad that I can bring some care and love.

How would your colleagues describe you in 3 words?
💚My Colleagues would probably say I'm energetic, spontaneous and a bit crazy!

With Autumn fast approaching, what would be your top tips for keeping your pets safe this Season?
💚Autumn is a beautiful time of year. I personally love the colours and digging out my favourite hoodies! However, I would like to highlight piles of leaves. It's easy to let your dog run around in them but remember that there can be sharp sticks or unknown objects underneath!

Quick fire questions:
💚What is your most used emoji? "😂"
💚If you weren't a RVN, what would you be? "I'm going to say Firefighter! I've always admired the role and the ability to help!"
💚What would our clients not know about you? "Outside of work, I play rugby for my local team, Cullompton ladies! I also enjoy archery for the calmer more relaxing down time!"

A well as being a RVN, Harriet is also a fully qualified human and equine sports massage therapist and a canine rehab nurse.
Harriet looks forward to meeting you and your furry friends at both our Sidmouth and Colyton branches!

Keep an eye on our page for our first team introduction coming soon! 🐾❤️

🐾 Is your pet carrying a little extra weight?

Just like us, maintaining a healthy weight is an important part of your pet’s overall well-being. That’s why we’re offering weight clinics to help you understand your pet’s individual needs and support them towards a healthier weight. 💙

At your pet’s weight clinic, we’ll look at:

⚖️ Their current weight and body condition
🍽️ Their ideal calorie intake and feeding routine
🐕 Their lifestyle, activity levels, and individual needs
📋 What may be contributing to weight gain
🎯 Practical, achievable steps to help them reach and maintain a healthy weight

We’ll also help you keep track of progress with a food diary, so you can better understand exactly what your pet is eating and make positive changes as a team.

And the support doesn’t stop there! 💚 Following your initial consultation, you’ll receive 6 months of unlimited free follow-up visits to help keep your pet on track.

Weight loss doesn’t happen overnight — but with the right support, small changes can make a big difference. 🐶🐱

We have had an approx 4-5 year old Hermanns tortoise handed in to us here in our Sidmouth surgery. There is a microchip, but unfortunately it is not registered; it looks like it may have been taking care of itself for a little while. There is some damage to it's shell. Please give us a call on 01395 208620 if you believe it could be yours.
