The small animal team consists of 13 dedicated small animal vets, 10 qualified veterinary nurses, 3 trainee veterinary nurses, 2 nursing assistants and 13 receptionists. The team work between our Colne, Barnoldswick and Burnley surgeries and operate a first opinion service to our clients. We are proud to be an approved training practice for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and an approved member of the Royal College Practice Standards Scheme. We believe in focusing upon the prevention of disease as much as its treatment and we understand the crucial role that you can play in prolonging your pet's life. The team is dedicated to providing you and your pet with the highest quality of care in a professional and friendly approach.

Meet Poppy! Our amazing senior weight loss star! 🤍
Poppy began her weight loss journey in February 2024 and has since lost a whopping 7.7kg. Poppy is feeling much better after developing a condition that affects her mobility. The incredible achievement wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of Poppy's wonderful family, who have worked hard to maintain consistent feeding amounts and by providing exercise such as hydrotherapy as a low impact way to support mobility, build strength and keep our senior pets moving comfortably. Poppy's journey is a wonderful reminder that, with patience, consistency and the right support, weight management can make a real difference to our pets quality of life. Well done to Poppy and her family - We are very proud of you!

Our veterinary nurses are now running Senior Pet Clinics, designed to give your much-loved older pet a thorough health and wellbeing check.
Each appointment includes:
🐾 Pre-consultation questionnaire
🐾 Full nose-to-tail health check
🐾 Wellness blood tests
🐾 Nutrition and preventative healthcare advice
🐾 Urine testing
🐾 Weight assessment, including body condition scoring
💙 FREE for our PHP clients
For non-PHP clients:
💉 £70 – standard wellness bloods
💉 £85 – enhanced blood testing
Regular health checks can help us spot potential problems early and give your pet the best possible care as they enter their senior years. 🐶🐱

Don’t miss a beat! 🐾❤️
Our pets’ hearts work hard for them every day, so keeping an eye on their heart health throughout their lives is incredibly important.
At every booster and 6-month health check, we take the time to listen carefully to your pet’s heart. This allows us to make sure everything sounds as it should and can help us detect early signs of heart disease or other heart conditions.
Spotting changes early can make a real difference and means we can discuss the appropriate care and treatment with you as soon as possible. ❤️
