Once again, people continue to fail smaller animals miserably.

A post was shared last night from someone rehoming two gerbils on Facebook who had been living in this cruel cage. Sadly, this is something we see far too often.

We are fed up with seeing the same thing happen time and time again. Why are people not doing proper research before taking on animals? Every animal deserves appropriate care, space, enrichment, and commitment, no matter how small they are.

Caring for an animal is a privilege. If you are unable to provide the correct care or commit to their needs for their lifetime, please do not take on an animal in the first place.

Small animals are not “easy” companions, and they should not suffer because of poor preparation or lack of understanding.
