RECALL!!
If your dog ignored you today, would they still come back if their life depended on it?

A reliable recall is one of the most important skills your dog will ever learn. It could prevent an accident, stop them chasing wildlife, or simply give them the freedom to enjoy off-lead adventures safely.

There are 3 recalls every dog should know:

🐾 1. The Everyday Recall
The one you use on walks, in the park, at home, at training and during play. It should be fun, rewarding, and something your dog loves responding to, could be food or a game with the favourite toy they bring back.

🚨 2. The Emergency Recall
A special cue used only when it really matters (often our voice changes when we're panicked so use this type of voice). If your dog is heading towards danger, this cue should mean, "Turn around immediately and race back for the best reward ever!"

❤️ 3. The Voluntary Check-In
Teach your dog to choose to come back and check in with you throughout a walk. Dogs that regularly reconnect with their owners are far less likely to disappear into the distance.

The best recall isn't built in a weekend. It's built through consistent practice and rewarding your dog for making the right choice—for life.

When this little lady comes, longer walks are a struggle so we have her stroller! This means she can get some fresh air, see different sights and then go for a little walk and sniffs before getting back in! Enjoy some cute pics. Also popped to the deli for a drink and lots of fuss for both doggies!

If the hot weather means you're doing less with your dog, you can feed them less until normality resumes!

Does your dog walk you... or do you walk your dog?

A loose lead isn't just about making walks easier. It's about creating a dog that chooses to stay with you because they want to—not because they're being forced to. One thing I worked super hard on with Louie. Small video below.

Here are my 3 reasons to teach loose lead walking using positive training:

🐾 Enjoy Stress-Free Walks

No more pulling, arm ache, back pain or frustration. Your walks become calmer, more enjoyable, and something both you and your dog look forward to.

❤️ Build a Stronger Bond

When you reward your dog for staying close, they learn that paying attention to you is worthwhile. This creates trust, teamwork, and a dog that naturally wants to stay connected. This makes other training easier.

🌍 Give Your Dog More Freedom

A dog that can walk calmly on a loose lead is welcome in more places, can enjoy longer walks, and is much easier to take on days out, holidays, and adventures together.

Loose lead walking isn't about keeping your dog tight by your side every second. It's about teaching them to make good choices and enjoy walking with you on a loose lead, beside, infront or behind you.
