Today’s trailing session was an interesting one, just two dogs and handlers , very swirly wind, big changes in temperature depending where you were standing and mostly hard surface trails. We did one trail each with me putting the missing person out to hide, the second trail the missing person took themselves out to hide, so I didn’t know where they were and neither did the handler. When nobody knows which direction to go and you are solely trusting your dog it makes it so much harder, the dogs have to work more independently as they don’t have me subconsciously directing them. It was a good test of both dogs and handlers and both did extremely well. An excercise I will be doing quite often now.
