The beautiful Holly came to see us to help trim her beak!

She is such a lovely girl and always brings a smile to our faces when she comes to visit.

Macaws have specially designed beaks to allow them to break through the hard shells of nuts and seeds.

🍂 Autumn Toxin Information: Keeping Your Furry Friends Safe! 🐾

As the weather cools down and the leaves start to change, autumn walks become so much fun! However, the new season also brings a few hidden hazards for our pets.

Here are the top autumn toxins and dangers to watch out for while you're out and about:
• 🌳 Conkers & Acorns: Falling from the trees, these can cause severe stomach upsets, vomiting, and can even cause dangerous blockages if swallowed.
• 🍄 Wild Mushrooms & Mouldy Leaves: Damp autumn piles are the perfect breeding ground for toxic fungi and bacteria. Try to keep your dogs from rummaging in deep piles of wet leaves!
• 🚘 Antifreeze: As we prepare our cars for winter, remember that antifreeze is highly toxic but tastes sweet to pets. Even a tiny lick from a driveway puddle can cause fatal kidney damage.
• 🐌 Slug Pellets & Rat Poisons: Many people clear out their gardens or lay traps this time of year. These chemicals are incredibly dangerous and require urgent veterinary care if ingested.
• 🎃 Halloween Treats: Keep the chocolate, sweets, and anything containing the artificial sweetener xylitol well out of paw's reach!

What should you do?
Always keep a close eye on what your pet is sniffing or chewing. If you ever suspect your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t have, please call us immediately. Fast action saves lives! 📞❤️

Have you ever noticed your pet is always moving around on their tiptoes? 🐾

Cats and dogs are what we call digitigrade animals. Unlike humans who walk flat on the soles of our feet, our pets stand, walk, and run entirely on their toes! This allows them to move so swiftly and quietly. 🏃💨

Not your average bunny! 🐰 Jeff the Continental Giant came in for a neutering procedure recently. Continental Giants are known for being incredibly docile and sweet, and Jeff certainly lived up to the reputation. Our team loved having some giant bunny cuddles whilst we monitored his recovery 🐇
