Meet Cruz, the springer spaniel, and Gunna, the Border Collie. Cruz is visiting us regularly for cartrophen injections to help his arthritis. Cartrophen is a disease modifying drug, which means it helps to improve the cartilage and slow the progression of arthritis. He needs it because he’s a little accident prone, he’s damaged his cruciate ligament in his knee and had a previous shoulder injury. And Gunna, well he just comes along for moral support! 🥰🥰

Lest we forget. Animals remained a crucial part of the war effort. Horses, donkeys, mules and camels carried food, water, ammunition and medical supplies to men at the front, and dogs and pigeons carried messages. Canaries were used to detect poisonous gas, and cats and dogs were trained to hunt rats in the trenches. They were war heroes too.
