Nosework Dogs

I am planning on running a teach the trainers workshop on 12th/13th June 2027 in the SN15 4 area. Tom Moir will be the trainer for this. It will be aimed at Nosework trainers/judges. It will be limited to 6 handler places and 6 spectator places and will be a handler choice so we get to see lots of different problem solving. I am currently just gauging interest for this date.

What a wonderful 4 days. We were hugely honoured to have Tom “Cupcake” Moir with us at Nosework Dogs and gosh did he bring knowledge and energy. We were coached, we discussed, we laughed, and then we had even more coaching. Thank You so much from me and my clients and the main car park chat was when is he coming back! Just a huge WOW from me!

Workshop at the glorious Chepstow racecourse today, a slightly different vibe I split the attendees in to two teams, the Golden Wonders that comprised of three goldies and Midge (small black Spaniel but very wonderful) and the odd Bulls(French Bulldogs, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the odd was 2 more goldies!). They searched 2 large areas as a team, swapping areas at lunch time. One dog worked in each area at a time, and the spare handlers acted as emotional support handlers. The main focus of the day was search to clear and not search to find. The handlers also had to assess their dogs search efficacy and ensure the dogs could still offer enough sniff to problem solve. The handlers also brought along some deviously sneaky distraction odours.

And we ran the same workshop last week, observing the dogs, letting them solve problems, working out how we can be the perfect partner. The little legs were highly featured and Jake the border Collie is available if anyone loses a camera as he is great at finding them. (Sorry Dee - no table shot)
