This autumn marks eight years since we first opened the doors to the Bath Country Pets Dog Hotel.

Eight years of being around lots of dogs, meeting wonderful customers, building an amazing team, and seeing our children growing up alongside the business!

We are incredibly proud of the family enterprise BCP has become, but eight years in, also feels like a good time to make a few personal changes to make sure we can continue doing what we love, in the way we believe it should be done.

So we’ve written a little about where we’ve come from, what’s changing this autumn and what comes next for Bath Country Pets.

There are a few grooming myths we’d quite happily see the back of and some of them can make life considerably harder for both dogs and their owners.

Good grooming isn’t simply about keeping a dog looking smart. It’s about keeping skin and coat healthy, paws and nails comfortable, spotting little problems early - think of it like a mini health check.

And at this time of year, there’s another culprit we’re particularly wary of: grass seeds. We’ve already found some very well hidden ones this summer, so those quick post-walk checks really are worthwhile.
