I have had some truly lovely testimonials following the completion of our first online In Sickness and In Health earlier this year.
After so much positive feedback that this sort of content is really helping dog professionals (and occasionally dog care givers) understand how disease can be affecting behaviour and how to collaborate with the veterinary team for the individual dog for best recognition and outcomes, WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE WE WILL BE RE RUNNING THIS ONLINE SERIES STARTING IN OCTOBER :)) AND DISCOUNTED EARLY BIRD PLACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE
“I thoroughly enjoyed the In Sickness and In Health webinar series. Having worked in the medical profession and completed extensive studies in canine behaviour, I was already familiar with many of the body systems discussed. However, this series reinforced and expanded my understanding of how interconnected those systems are and how they influence behaviour, welfare and performance. One of the things I appreciated most was that, despite my existing knowledge, every webinar gave me new information or a different perspective. There were several occasions where I caught myself thinking, “I didn’t know that.”
Dr Amber Batson has an exceptional ability to explain complex science in a practical and engaging way using clear analogies and real case studies. I would highly recommend this series to any canine professional. It reinforces the importance of looking beyond behaviour alone and adopting a multi approach that ultimately benefits both dogs and the people who care for them.”
“Six well-packed informative webinars with supporting PDF literature. Clinical information without the complicated jargon, Amber delivered these so well, I was able to follow the content really well. The Q&A's were so helpful and interesting and I liked how they were strategically placed within the course content so we could revisit the current modules without feeling overwhelmed.”
“For any pet professional, dog nerd or interested owner, this course is a must. Get ready to go on a deep dive into the connection between physical health and behavior with incredible detail, the latest in research (with sources!) real life case studies and practical skills you can use on your own.”
This is a 6 module on line course with two live (recorded if you are unable to attend) discussion sessions, one after module 3 and one after module 6.
The aim of this course is to help dog professionals, within the vet industry or within the training and behaviour community, to appreciate the overlap between a variety of medical conditions and behaviour change, then how to help and support the dog’s legal caregivers to collect relevant observations to best provide their vet with information to aid any diagnoses and treatment plans, where behaviour change is likely linked to the medical issue. Educated collaborations can play such a valuable role in improving wellbeing in our dogs.
Did you attend the first online course? Feel free to comment below with your thoughts on the modules and where it has or perhaps, has not, helped you.

Attendance certificates are automatically awarded to learners who watch all webinar content and attend the live Zoom sessions.
