🚨 CHICHESTER DOG OWNERS & PET PROFESSIONALS - IMPORTANT UPDATE 🚨

🐕 Do you walk dogs in the Chichester District Council area?

New dog control rules are now in force and could affect some of your usual walking routes. The updated Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) runs from October 2026 until October 2029.

📍 What's changed? The rules now apply to all publicly accessible land, including privately owned land that is free to enter (excluding Forestry Commission land). That means some fields, estates and paths you regularly use may now be covered by the order.

✅ Remember to: 🐾 Pick up dog mess immediately
🐾 Put dogs on a lead if requested by an authorised officer
🐾 Respect existing dog exclusion zones, including parts of Selsey beach during summer
🐾 Keep dogs out of privately owned fenced children's play areas all year round

💷 Failure to comply could result in a fixed penalty notice of £150, reduced to £100 if paid within 14 days.

📢 If you're a dog walker, pet sitter, trainer, boarding provider, or simply enjoy walking your dog locally, it's worth taking a few minutes to check your usual routes.

Have you got space in your heart and home for this affectionate pair?

Pol, aged 16, and Tatty, aged 13, are really sweet and affectionate older cats looking for a home where they can relax and enjoy their later years.

Pol is the “meeter and greeter’ and very confident. Tatty is a little more shy but will soon warm up and show her loving self.

They are both fully vet checked and have manageable health issues as you might expect in older cats. These will be covered by us under our Golden Oldie and supported cat schemes.

Once settled in their new home, Pol and Tatty will require access to a garden, as they enjoy going outside.
