🐾 Ticks, Fleas & Grass Seeds Check After Walks 🌿

As the weather gets warmer, ticks, fleas and grass seeds can start to become a nuisance and become much more common — especially in long grass, woodland areas and fields.

As walkers we try to make sure we give the dogs a quick check over as they are popped back into the van to make sure there are no hitchhikers!
But as owners I would always encourage after every walk to give your dog a good check over maybe while you are sat relaxing in the evening:

✔️ Check ears, paws, armpits and around the collar for ticks
✔️ Look between toes and paw pads for grass seeds
✔️ Brush through the coat to spot fleas or debris
✔️ Watch for excessive licking, shaking of the head, limping or swelling
✔️ Remove ticks carefully with a tick remover
✔️ Contact your vet if you notice redness, irritation or a grass seed embedded in the skin

Grass seeds may seem small, but they can burrow into the skin, ears, nose and paws and cause serious problems if left untreated.

Keeping up to date with flea and tick prevention is one of the best ways to protect your dog 🐶

Helping keep your dogs happy, healthy and safe on every adventure 🌳🐕

This is a good example of how as dog walkers we have to constantly be on the look out! I spotted this herd of deer way before the dogs had, I got them all on lead and in the video you see they all spot them at the same time as each other. If they had been off lead it would have resulted in them chasing. So this was prevented and no deer was panicked unnecessary.

Sundays are for chilling……it’s nice to have a pup around again to do this with 🫶🏼 🐾

Walks lately…..sun, rain, fog, sun. The weather definitely keeps us dog walkers on our toes!

Just me doing my job 😂….not going to lie, the last couple of weeks has been hard with the relentless rain and mud to battle every day and all the muddy towels to get washed!! ….Still, the dogs do not care and they are all still having the best time while on our walks! 🐶 My Business name has definitely lived up to it though! 🙈……looks like we are in for the rain and mud for a while longer so their happy faces when I come pick them up and Costa coffee will get me through the days 😂

Having a community around you supporting each other doing the same job makes all the difference! I have been very fortunate to have been part of a very supportive community over the years 🤎🫶🏼

I’ve never seen other dog walkers as competitors.
I see them as allies… And I genuinely believe that mindset makes our local dog community stronger.

No single walker can meet every dog’s needs. Dogs are individuals: some thrive in calm, structured solo walks, others need carefully matched social groups, some need confidence-building, some need enrichment, and some simply need patience and consistency. Different walkers bring different skills, experience, setups and energy and that variety is a good thing!

Seeing other professionals as allies means I can recommend someone who’s a better fit when a dog’s needs change, when my availability is full, or when a family needs something slightly different. That honesty builds trust, not just between walkers, but with owners too. It puts the dog first ALWAYS.

A supportive network also raises standards across the board. We share knowledge, flag local hazards, talk through tricky situations, and learn from each other’s experiences. We encourage best practice, accountability and professionalism. Because when one of us does well, it reflects positively on the whole industry.

There’s also a very real human side to this work. It can be physically demanding, emotionally heavy and unpredictable. Having fellow walkers who understand the realities, the muddy days, the difficult decisions, the responsibility we carry matters.

Collaboration creates resilience, not rivalry.

At the end of the day, dog walking isn’t about winning clients.
It’s about welfare, trust and consistency.

When we work alongside one another instead of against each other, dogs get better care, owners get better guidance, and our local community becomes safer, kinder and more reliable for everyone involved.

That’s why I’ll always choose collaboration over competition. 🐾🧡

Hello everyone!
It has been a while…..(too long!) I wanted to come say hi and update my feed with some nice new pictures of some of the pups. We’ve all been enjoying lots of walks over the last year and welcoming new club members. 🐾
