in Complete Horsemanship, now retired from teaching. One Life-Ride It! I have been passionate about horses and riding since forever!

Many of my early riding years were spent on other people's horses which meant learning about many different breeds/temperaments. We couldn't afford to buy in to 'well schooled' and so I learned to get the best out of the horses I was offered to ride. Once I finished college and began to work, I had my first pony on loan who gave me a taste of competition - show jumping, cross country and showing.

The showing bug really bit me and my next horse partnered me into learning side saddle, passing my grade tests and competing at the National Championships. Whilst that was going on, I decided to combine my interest in teaching with my love of all things equestrian and I began to study (part time, around work) for my BHSAI. Many horses have enriched my teaching and been kind enough to partner me through many highs (and lows!) at local, county and twice at National level. My broad experience in teaching comes from Riding School, Freelance Instruction and also from Secondary and Alternative Education. This has really helped me to understand how teaching and learning takes place. In my role as a mentor of young people I have developed experience and expertise in setting clear goals and a step by step approach to helping students achieve those goals. This has transferred well into my teaching of riding and horse mastership skills.

Had a lovely time at Hallamshire Riding Society of Sheffield Presentation evening last night. There was a delicious pie and pea supper from Stallion Catering ( available for all your catering needs!) and lots of happy chatter around the room from our members old! and new.
Thank you to Sheffield Tigers Rugby Club for your lovely venue.
Biggest thank you and shout out to Alison Lingard and the Hallamshire Ladies for ALL that they do for us throughout each season and for this celebration. You could barely get through the door for tables piled high with the most beautiful rosettes, sashes and trophies.
I was lucky enough to win one of the super raffle prizes. Thank you so much Marshall Memories ( bespoke memorial keepsake jewellery)for your very kind and generous voucher, which I shall look forward to spending with you!

Another fab morning Club. Dressage for us, other lively souls were Show-jumping in the afternoon.
Thank you very much to everyone who organised, to our Judge, my fellow competitors, and particularly to the lovely lady who stood in that freezing wind to read both tests for me 🤗 and to hubby Andy who popped in on his way home from work to see how we were getting along🤗😍

Mostly, thanks to the Special One, who managed to leave comedy Dave at home and pretty much focus on the task in hand.
Bless him, he's a star 🥰🐴💜

The brown Bronco and I had a trip out to Hallamshire Riding Society of Sheffield at Stubley Hollow today. Many thanks to Alison Lingard and Hallamshire ladies for your hard work. Also to our Judge, steward, photographer, caterers and fellow competitors for a lovely day. Finally, to the very kind and trusting lady who lent me her stirrup leathers and irons, as I managed to forget mine🙄😊

Mr B was a bit full of beans, time to up the work rate if I want to avoid being bucked off.
Bless him. Good job he's loved...😆.

Been so poorly the last two weeks, felt really fed up.
So,as the antibiotics are finally working, went to Dressage.
