in Complete Horsemanship, now retired from teaching. One Life-Ride It! I have been passionate about horses and riding since forever!

Many of my early riding years were spent on other people's horses which meant learning about many different breeds/temperaments. We couldn't afford to buy in to 'well schooled' and so I learned to get the best out of the horses I was offered to ride. Once I finished college and began to work, I had my first pony on loan who gave me a taste of competition - show jumping, cross country and showing.

The showing bug really bit me and my next horse partnered me into learning side saddle, passing my grade tests and competing at the National Championships. Whilst that was going on, I decided to combine my interest in teaching with my love of all things equestrian and I began to study (part time, around work) for my BHSAI. Many horses have enriched my teaching and been kind enough to partner me through many highs (and lows!) at local, county and twice at National level. My broad experience in teaching comes from Riding School, Freelance Instruction and also from Secondary and Alternative Education. This has really helped me to understand how teaching and learning takes place. In my role as a mentor of young people I have developed experience and expertise in setting clear goals and a step by step approach to helping students achieve those goals. This has transferred well into my teaching of riding and horse mastership skills.

Hallamshire Riding Society of Sheffield for a busy summer, the usual friendly, supportive welcome we have come to rely on. Thank you to Alison Lingard , Hallamshire Ladies, Judges, stewards and everyone that makes every show day a great day. Some decent weather helped too! Just the Chantry Champs to go!

Show! Wonderful, as ever. We didn't pull up any trees ( Comedy Dave was with us all day🙄😉🐴💜) but had a smashing day at our favourite show and venue. Here's to your next 30 years!😉

I hope whatever you were doing with your horses and ponies, be it watching them free ranging in the sunshine, to competing in your favourite discipline, or hacking the beautiful countryside, that you had a great summer 🐴💜

Lovely way to start my holidays, with a trip to Selston Equestrian Centre for a Northern Counties Pony Association show.(Leicester and Rutland Branch)
Started out well when Comedy Dave appeared whilst loading and MrB whacked me round the face with his big ( if very handsome🙄) head. Cue canine tooth through lip and a black bruise and fat lip emerging before we'd even set off☺️😆 No photos, don't want to frighten the general public😱😱

Entries were low so we were 1 of 1 in the Veterans, but thank you to our judge, who said some complimentary things about his schooling and manners(🤔 think he was apologising for rearranging my face earlier, with good behaviour) and that meant everything.

Selston for their super facilities, sadly I didn't try the café but the food smelt amazing! Hopefully next time.

Another long, hot day😅
Spent pretty much all day in the sun, pulling ragwort, washing ponies , moving electric tape and generally being a pony slave🙄😁👍🏼
Truthfully, just enjoyed being in their company whilst doing the necessaries 🐴💜🐴💜

So it was Brandy's 'Gotcha- day

yesterday🤗🐴💜
I decided to celebrate by taking him to a VHS Qualifier .
He decided to bring Comedy Dave along and proceeded to do two bucks as we went across centre to change the rein. Cheeky boyo. That put us 2nd out of 2🙄
However, 1st and 2nd place both qualify for the Regionals!

Had a lovely time at Hallamshire Riding Society of Sheffield Presentation evening last night. There was a delicious pie and pea supper from Stallion Catering ( available for all your catering needs!) and lots of happy chatter around the room from our members old! and new.
Thank you to Sheffield Tigers Rugby Club for your lovely venue.
Biggest thank you and shout out to Alison Lingard and the Hallamshire Ladies for ALL that they do for us throughout each season and for this celebration. You could barely get through the door for tables piled high with the most beautiful rosettes, sashes and trophies.
I was lucky enough to win one of the super raffle prizes. Thank you so much Marshall Memories ( bespoke memorial keepsake jewellery)for your very kind and generous voucher, which I shall look forward to spending with you!
