This is the hardest post I've ever had to write.
Yesterday we said good bye to our beautiful Maisy.
Its so hard spending time reflecting when you realise just how integral to our lives she has been. She has been with us for all the big moments in our lives, me proposing, our Wedding, family holidays and raising the kids to name a few.
We got Maisy at 6 months old, a giddy bearded collie cross Parsons JRT pup, she met our Archie and they were instant best friends.
As a youngster she completed her gold good citizen award and loved agility. She was never one for a ball but loved a tug toy and treats. She was also a lover of people, especially children. She quickly became our kids favourite, as she never pulled and they could walk her even as toddlers.
She was always a bit sassy, a diva and a poser.
She loved splashing in puddles and shallow rivers but she must be able to touch the bottom or panic set in!
She was a super bright girl who wanted to please, but also had a strong terrier like personality regularly seen hanging from tug toys. She set firm boundaries with the dogs (and Cats) around her, commanding calmness and respect in her space but she also had the sweetest personality often very mothering around the other pets we had, especially the rabbits and guinea pigs.
Its only looking back now I realise how much she helped me, her calm steady presence brought balance even in my biggest struggles.
She taught us so much and gave so much love. We found out when she was 3 that she had an enlarged heart but in reality she was all heart.
Run free Maisy
(i know the first thing you will do is check on 'your' guinea pigs!)
