🌿🐾 DOGSHILL PADDOCKS — BEHIND THE SCENES, THE FIGHT CONTINUES… 🐾🌿
There’s a lot that people see when they look at Dogshill Paddocks.
The plans.
The paddocks.
The proposals.
The planning application.
But there is also a whole lot that has happened behind the scenes over the past few years.
And, to be completely honest, it hasn’t always been easy.
There have been rumours, accusations, complaints and investigations surrounding Matt, KXK9s and the way the business operates.
Each time, those matters have been dealt with through the appropriate channels — and, to date, the investigations have not resulted in any finding of wrongdoing against Matt or KXK9s.
Yet every new rumour, accusation or complaint has brought another layer of stress and pressure to an already difficult situation.
Stress that, from our perspective, could have been avoided.
Because contrary to some of the stories that have circulated…
Matt hasn’t done anything wrong.
KXK9s hasn’t done anything wrong.
And apparently, neither have we. 😂
Although Xena, Bear and a few of the others may wish to make some formal admissions of guilt…

We’re certainly not responsible for what happens when the dogs are left unsupervised with the evidence.

👀 WE’VE ALSO TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR…
One thing Matt has consistently tried to do throughout this process is engage directly.
He has invited local councillors and Penyffordd Community Council to come and see the grounds, walk the site and discuss the proposals in person.
The idea was simple:
Come and see what we are actually trying to do.
Come and look at the land.
Come and see the proposed layout.
Come and talk through the concerns.
Come and have a conversation.
Unfortunately, those invitations have not resulted in the engagement Matt had hoped for.
From our perspective, it has sometimes felt as though opinions had already been formed before there was an opportunity to properly understand the proposals.
Matt has, of course, developed his own theories as to why…

But we remain completely impartial.
Obviously.
Very impartial.
Extremely impartial.
…we’ll leave that one there. 😏😂

🐾 AND THEN THERE’S MATT…
To be fair to the lad, through all of this, he has continued to face things head-on.
The planning process.
The complaints.
The rumours.
The accusations.
The uncertainty.
The pressure.
And now the appeal.
He has continued working with our planning advisors and has now submitted the appeal to Planning and Environment Decision Wales (PEDW).
We are currently awaiting formal acknowledgement.
Once the appeal has been acknowledged, the process moves forward and the investigation begins. At that stage, we should have a clearer understanding of the next steps and, based on the current anticipated timescale, we should have some form of answer within approximately 16–20 weeks of formal acknowledgement.
So for now…

❤️ A BIG SHOUT-OUT TO KxK9 Dog Services - Flintshire
We know Matt isn’t always the easiest person to get along with.
He’s riddled with ADHD, doesn’t always follow his own conversations, never mind anyone else’s, and can somehow start explaining one thing before completely forgetting what he was talking about halfway through. 🤦🏼♂️🤣
But the dogs?
They absolutely adore him.
And honestly, we reckon the dogs are probably the only ones who get a complete conversation out of him from start to finish.
Have you seen them with him?!
He can do absolutely no wrong.
Although…
Kenny has entered the chat.

Kenny may have some alternative evidence.
We’re also still trying to establish whether Matt speaks or barks more throughout an average working day.
We’re looking into purchasing some sort of recording equipment.
Early findings suggest it could be too close to call. 🤣🐕
But underneath all the chaos, the talking, the barking, the muddy boots and the questionable conversations with his four-legged colleagues, there is one thing that has never really been in doubt:
Matt is passionate about dogs.
He cares deeply about what he is trying to build here.
And he will fight incredibly hard when he believes something is wrong.
That determination has carried KXK9s through some incredibly difficult periods — and it is that same determination that has brought Dogshill Paddocks this far.
So from us at Dogshill…

Whatever happens next, we know how much work has gone into getting us here.
The paddocks may be quiet for now…
…but behind the scenes?
The work continues.
The appeal is submitted.
The paperwork is moving.
And now…
