Planning Update – Dogshill Paddocks

Yesterday, our planning application for Dogshill Paddocks was unfortunately refused by the Planning Committee.

While we’re naturally disappointed with the outcome, this is not the end of the road.

We remain proud of the proposal we put forward and grateful for the support we’ve received throughout the process. We strongly believe in the benefits Dogshill Paddocks would bring to the local community and will now be working closely with our planning team to appeal the decision so it can be independently reviewed.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, shared kind words and believed in our vision. Your encouragement means the world to us.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as the appeal progresses.

🐾 A Heartfelt Thank You 🐾

As we move ever closer to the finish line, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Firstly, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to our friends at KxK9 Dog Services - Flintshire for their unwavering support and for being such fantastic advocates for Dogshill Paddocks throughout this journey. Your encouragement has meant a great deal to us.

We’d also like to thank every single person who has supported us over the past several months. Whether you’ve shared our posts, sent kind messages, offered words of encouragement, or simply believed in what we’re trying to achieve, your support has helped keep us going.

The Planning Officer has now recommended that our application be approved, which is a huge milestone and one we’re incredibly proud of.

However, we’d also like to remind everyone that this is not the final decision.

🗓️ The application will be determined by the Planning Committee on Wednesday 15th July, where elected members will vote on the application. Whilst the officer’s recommendation is extremely positive and gives us every reason to be optimistic, the final decision will be made by the committee.

We’re hopeful, we’re excited, and we’re keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome.

If all goes to plan, we’ll soon be able to start preparing for the exciting part…

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing regular updates as the park progresses, behind-the-scenes photos, sneak peeks, and—most excitingly—our planned opening date.

We can’t wait to welcome you and your furry family members to Dogshill Paddocks and provide a safe, secure and enjoyable space where dogs can run free and owners can enjoy peace of mind.

🐾✨ DOGSHILL PADDOCKS UPDATE ✨🐾

Right… gather round everyone because apparently the universe decided I needed to learn two things recently:

1️⃣ Patience
2️⃣ How much a hip complains after a “small procedure” last week 😅

Sadly, I can confirm I’ve mastered neither.

So… while we were all dramatically staring at May 20th like it was the final of Britain’s Got Talent 👀🐶✨… there have been a few delays in the process. Nothing bad — just the usual exciting world of paperwork, timelines, committee schedules and people using phrases like “moving through the appropriate channels” 😴📑

BUT… and this is the important bit…

Everything is still looking VERY positive for approval of the Dogshill Paddocks project 💚🐾

We’re now hopeful that our proposal will be submitted for committee decision by June 🤞🏼 and at the absolute latest July 15th.

So at the moment, patience is all that’s required…

Unfortunately, if you know me personally, you’ll know I possess the patience levels of a spaniel that’s just spotted a tennis ball launcher 😅

In fact, I’m currently operating with the exact same energy as the vibrating dogs in our group sessions:

Every email notification has me attempting to sprint across the room like an overexcited Labrador hearing the biscuit tin open…

…which would be impressive IF my hip wasn’t still recovering from last week’s procedure 😭😂

So instead it’s less:

And more:
🧍🏼‍♂️➡️😬➡️🦿➡️🐌

Honestly, I’m one sudden notification away from needing one of those dog recovery cones for humans.

But genuinely — despite the delays — everything still feels incredibly encouraging and we’re still fully focused on creating:

🐾 Safe & secure dog fields
🐾 Spaces for dogs to run free and build confidence
🐾 Training areas for nervous, reactive & energetic dogs
🐾 Happy muddy dogs
🐾 Slightly less happy muddy owners

We honestly can’t thank everyone enough for the support, shares, messages and excitement around this project so far 💚

Please keep those fingers, paws, tails, lucky tennis balls and emotional support treats crossed for us 🤞🏼🎾🐶

The dream is still VERY much alive…
