Rusik Siberian Cats My name is Cathrine and I am a small Fife registered hobby breeder of the traditional Siberian Cat. My main aim is to breed for health and temperament.

It is also a huge bonus if I can help people with allergies be able to live with a kitten. All the kittens so far has gone to allergy homes. Why the name Rusik? Rusik was the first Russian police sniffer cat at Stavropol near the Caspian sea. He made an important contribution in the search for hidden illegal cargoes of Sturgeon fish, an endangered species, and caviar. Rusik began his crime-fighting career when he appeared at the police checkpoint in 2002. Following his adoption by the staff, Rusik demonstrated his ability to sniff out sturgeon-smugglers' stashes with astonishing accuracy. His talent for sniffing out poached fish soon found him taking over the job of the police's canine team member. Rusik died in the line of duty on 12 July 2003, when he was hit by a mafia owned car during an inspection. He had apparently found smuggled sturgeon in the same car some time before, according to personnel at the police checkpoint. Some local sources expressed their belief that Rusik was the object of a contract killing, but the truth is still unclear.

I want to introduce our hopeful new breeding boy Nordskjæret’s Max. A huge thank you to his breeder Synnøve Settemsdal for this lovely boy. Not only is he stunning but his temperament is amazing as well. Big cuddle boy!

He arrived with us at the end of September. I travelled to Norway to pick him up. He almost gave me a heart attack on the flight back, as he figured out how to slightly open the zip in his carrier. I felt him wiggle by my feet and by the time I got to him his whole head was out of the bag. That could have made for a bit more of an interesting flight that I wanted to. He was not scared, he just wanted out to say hello to everyone.

Since he got here he’s been in the normal quarantine away from all the other cats, but all treats are now back and he can start getting to know everyone.

Last weekend he came with us to the Strictly cat show and enjoyed all the fuss very much. The added bond was that the judges liked him and think he is very promising😻😻..

I can’t wait for this handsome chap to join our cattery 🥰🥰❤️❤️. More information to come in the next few weeks..

Yesterday we spend the day at The Cat Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham.
We believe close to 6000 people came through the doors.
We had the pleasure of speaking to many cat lovers.
Mikito spent his day on his back enjoying being fussed by everyone. He loves attention and the only time he would raise his head was if someone was not stroking him, as if he said ‘hey why did you stop’..

We also brought 3 young girls with us, Ruby, Qylie and Olga. They came along to get used to cat shows and did incredibly well. Did not show any signs of stress due to taking things slow. They got to spend the morning in the back of the booth getting used to the noise and people, then towards the end of the day they got to source a little bit of time in the show pens and was greatly admired by everyone.
In addition Cyrus and Amara came along with Christina who is our lovely host family. Cyrus and Amara also love attention and had a great day being admired.

Huge thank you to Christina who came along to help and made it possible to speak to a lot more people.

We will be bringing several of our cats and kittens to meet everyone 😻
