💙 Sadly, a ginger and white male cat was found deceased in the Spar car park in Blacon on 18th October and was brought to our out-of-hours service.
The cat is not microchipped, so we have unfortunately not been unable to identify an owner. We understand how distressing it can be not knowing what has happened to a beloved pet, and we would very much like to help provide answers if possible.

We've had a black/brown, roughly 10 wk old female kitten brought into us, found in the Saughall area. She appears healthy but we are assuming she has got outside too soon due to her predicted age.

🐌 Lungworm: is your dog protected?

Lungworm is an established risk for dogs in the North West of England.
Dogs can become infected accidentally through contact with slugs, snails, grass, puddles, outdoor bowls or toys.

Signs to look out for
• Coughing or breathing difficulties
• Tiredness or reduced exercise tolerance
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding
• Weight loss
• Collapse or neurological signs in severe cases

Prevention is key, not every routine worming treatment protects against lungworm.
Ask your primary vet whether your dog’s current parasite treatment specifically provides lungworm protection.

Help reduce the risk
• Bring outdoor toys and bowls inside
• Discourage slug and snail eating
• Avoid stagnant water where possible
• Keep your dog’s parasite prevention up to date
