IN-PERSON AND ONLINE 1-1 SESSIONS
• Limited availability - contact to book!

• Can include scent work, gun dog skills, loose lead walking, recall, settle training, help with behaviours, baby preparation, puppy preparation and settling in and many others!

ONLINE HELP - different levels of support available.

• Purchasable handouts available - £5 per handout covering loose lead walking, recall, settle training, self-control, puppy settling in and socialisation and more coming soon! £5 is solely for the handout.

Rather late on posting this but it was a pleasure to see Arlo recently for his second puppy 1-1 session as part of his Deluxe Puppy Package!

This is a great option to get the best of both worlds of 1-1 training, and puppy class.

Gorgeous Fern had a lovely, confidence building helper dog session with the wonderful Obi and Michelle a few weeks ago.

Through no fault of anyone’s Fern and her owners have been through quite a lot since bringing her home. They joined my puppy class which she is doing very well in, though speaking with her owners I suggested a helper dog session with Obi to provide a controlled environment in which to build Fern’s confidence.

Puppies who may lack confidence, may vocalise towards other dogs for a range of reasons. Well meaning advice can be to expose them to these stimulus so that they ‘get used to it’. However, it is widely known that this often has the opposite effect as the puppy is likely to still be worried if nuances are not considered, which a professional will be able to help with.

Confidence building is about exposing puppies in a controlled manner, working at their pace, whilst giving owners practical advice to help puppies/dogs in real life situations. Fern’s owners have been amazing with her, following all my advice in the session, in puppy class and in updates I’ve received.

A fantastic session for this cohort of puppy class a couple of weeks ago!

✅ Appropriate greetings - balancing walking past each other calmly with how to greet calmly.

✅ Settle training whilst others moved around - an essential skill for puppies to learn, to watch and ‘be’ rather than getting involved.

✅ Self-control training with the use of food games - working out which worked game worked well for each puppy.

✅ Play with food and toys with their owners. Though interactions with each other are lovely, socialisation isn’t only about this, it is about teaching essential skills such as playing with their owners, how to do this around distractions (each other) and how to calm down afterwards and be able to listen.

They aced it! ✨

If you are looking for puppy class spaces please check out my website as the spaces advertised on there are up to date. If you’d like to book a space the best thing to do is:

• Contact us via our website, email or on 07546524031 (all details on page bio) to register your interest. Please supply me with your email address as this is where I will send your booking form.

• If contacting via email or mobile, you’ll receive an automated message in return explaining I’m out of office. There is a message on my website as you enter the web page also detailing this.

• On my return I will respond to all enquiries, if I have your email address, I will respond via this attaching my booking form so please keep an eye on junk mail. If I have another form of contact I will also contact you on this to touch base and let you know I’ve sent the form across.

• Spaces are booked on a first come, first serve basis once I have received your form back, I will respond with confirmation of your booking status. Either to confirm booking or to provide you with other options.

Life can get busy sometimes and not only do we feel this but our dogs can too. This can contribute to subtle or potentially more overt behaviour change as usual routines, activities and sleep habits can be altered.

A great idea to help with this is ‘decompression’ walks.

I would recommend doing these in quiet places so your dog can ‘just be’ and you can both switch off without having to be on the look out for distractions. If you’re working on recall training either hiring a secure field can be beneficial or going to a local field with a longline.

We headed to a local field recently for one of these and we had a lovely time. What did I do?

I rewarded and interacted with Ozzie when he instigated it, but otherwise I was quiet, encouraging independent sniffing and crucially (for older, slower dogs or those really enjoying sniffing) I moved at his pace so that he had lots of time to enjoy sniffing which is very calming and fulfilling for our dogs!
