9 years ago today….

Galloping into the arena for WOTRL on the incredible Coralino - my OG Maggie War horse 🤍

It’s been a little whilst since I’ve donned that armour and gone to war now…. Instead you are more likely to find me playing the role of ‘Mummy Maggie’ training up the next wave of badass warrior Queens! 👸🏼

Look at my baby girl all grown up!

Yesterday marked Arrow’s official first day of learning to be a ridden horse! Although she has done plenty of basic handling and simple groundwork we now ready to take the next step in our training!

From day one this little mare has shown the best attitude to life and I can’t wait to see how we progress over the next couple of months 🥹

‘Riding with mummy’ has taken on a whole new meaning!

I have to say I thought I had a bit longer before she started stealing my horses! But I’m here for it! We had a lot of fun riding round together!

Whilst we did start with a saddle on there is definitely not enough room for both of us so soon resorted to riding ba****ck! If this is too to continue I’m going to need a ba****ck pad….. 🤔

My top tips for looking after your horses mane over winter!

One of my biggest pet peeves is winter rugs rubbing horses manes so as much as possible I only use standard neck rugs. But for those who need the extra protection I always choose a detachable neck as you can see here with Aero and his rug!

He has worn this rug all winter with no mane rubbing thanks to a few key tips…
1. Keep the mane and neck cover clean - a build up of grease is what tends to cause the rubbing
2. Make sure the neck cover is big enough. You will see when not using the liner system I also attach the neck to the top two rings as to maximise space on top of the neck

What are your top winter care tips?!

Thanks and for keeping aero looking tip top, even when out all winter 👌🏼
