Mel's hedgehog rescue I've been rescuing and rehabilitating hedgehogs for a while now. I'm in Chelmsford Essex and I'm a small self funded rescue.

Dotty 🦔 named by her finders, came to me this afternoon after being found wobbling while walking slowly. She is dehydrated but otherwise seems in fairly good condition so far. She has a few fleas on her which have been treated, and no ticks. Her finders did a great job looking after her until they could get her to me. She had been kept warm and dry and had been fed and watered, as she was looked after overnight.
Dotty 🦔 has had subconscious fluids and is snuggled up in her incubator.

This video is from Lilly 🦔 release. Little did I know that it would be the last time that l saw her alive.
This afternoon, Jax Draper found a dead hedgehog 🦔 in the garden that backs onto mine, which I identified as Lilly 🦔 😭🌈🦔🩷🌈. Knowing that she was completely fit and healthy when she was released, we decided to try to find out what had happened to her.
In the garden where Lilly 🦔 was found, we found another 4 hedgehogs dead 😭😭. Further searching found fox 🦊 dens in the garden 🏡. This post is not about fox 🦊 bashing but just to make people aware that they will and do kill and eat hedgehogs when food is scarce, as it has been for much of our wildlife over the summer.
To say that I am heartbroken is an understatement. I feel so guilty. Lilly 🦔 was a beautiful gentle girl and I am going to miss her visiting the garden 🏡.
It's been a tough few days, having to have Harriet 🦔 put to sleep on Friday, and finding Lilly 🦔 plus 4 other hedgehogs 🦔 dead today. I'm feeling very sad 😭 and deflated.

Little Razzy 🦔 is a cheeky boy. Every time he's put in the scales ⚖️ he tries to jump out. Considering he has a problem with his back legs, he can certainly move 🤣.

Lucy 🦔 is doing really well. She was moved to the outdoor enclosure yesterday to give her more space and prepare her for release which isn't too far away now.

Rosie 🦔 is now Razzy 🦔. He was so little when he came to me that I thought he was a girl 💁😂. I'm sure he doesn't mind though as long as he gets his food promptly. He doesn't like to be kept waiting. This little one has a good appetite, although still only managing soaked biscuits and mousse. His back legs are still an issue, with suspected metabolic bone disease which is being monitored.

Moana 🦔, now called Mo as we realised she was actually a he, 💁🤣 is a gorgeous boy. He is gaining weight ⚖️ nicely and just melts our hearts, even if he can be a little bit huffy 😂.
