This dashing boy Gaston came to visit us for a heart scan performed by our Vet Marketa. ππΎ
Gaston started to cough more often than usual and his belly had swollen, making him very uncomfortable to lay down.
Dr Marketa took a look on the ultrasound, and saw a pericardial effusion, which means there was fluid in the pericardium, the double-layered sac surrounding the heart.
After our amazing teams work, Dr Marketa and Dr Peter had done a Pericardiocentesis, which means draining the fluid through the catheter until the pressure on the heart is relieved. The catheter was guided by ultrasound to make sure it is in the right place.
We are so happy to hear that Gaston is thriving and doing so well after his treatment! ππΎ
