We’re hiring! We are looking for a friendly and helpful person to assist us as a part-time receptionist on Saturday mornings (2 a month, 8.30am-12.30am). Duties will include answering the phone, booking appointments, dispensing medications and liaising with the duty vet. Full training will be provided. Our next Flock Health Club meeting is on Monday the 8th June at 7.30pm. Now is the time to start thinking about your rams - Our own vet Sophie will be talking all things pre-breeding including MOTs and general management 🐑
Food and drink to be provided as always! Free of charge for FHC members, £10 per farm for non-members 🐑

We’ve passed our Annual Practice TB Audit once again with flying colours! So much goes on in the background to ensure smooth running of our TB services including but not limited to booking and submitting tests, liaising with the APHA and organising kit/paperwork. The biggest well done to Zoe for handling the inspection and making sure everything was tip top - she was praised by the assessors for her organisation!

When your stitches heal so well you wouldn’t even know she’d had a caesarean 🤩 We’ve been trialling some new suture material recently and are very pleased with the results!

Somerset Young Farmers Clubs

Who doesn’t love a bit of friendly competition? This spring we implemented both our “Springtime Bingo” and “Lambing Tally” to help our vets through the springtime madness.

Vet Sophie won the Tally with a 23 ewes lambed, the most recent being on Monday night at 4am!

Vet and Director Becky won the Bingo with most boxes ticked off (while no one completed all boxes it’s probably a good thing no one managed to “catch something from the calves”! Equally can we up the calves/lambs named after us next year please!)

While it’s not completely over, the madness is calming down, thank you for enabling us to support you at this crazy time of year!
