Thank you so much to everybody who has so kindly donated toward Hunters vet bills these past couple of weeks. We are so incredibly grateful and we have almost raised enough to clear this debt in full.
Unfortunately, we haven't raised enough to cover his individual Cremation so we are giving him one, last, big, final push this evening.
We need to let the Crematorium know by tomorrow if we are going ahead and we would so dearly love to bring him home to his final resting place if we can.

If you could spare even just a couple of pounds to help us reach our target it will make such a difference.
Please don't think that "it's not worth donating just a fiver" because it really, really, is. If we can get enough fivers, we can bring him home 💕

The Fundraising Page to donate is here:

We have received the outstanding invoice from the vet for Hunters euthansia today.
The euthansia alone.
Just to have him put to sleep = £378
We very kindly received a discount which has brought the cost down to £300.

This is in addition to all of his previous treatment/ meds etc over the past 2 weeks.

And then the individual cremation cost to have him returned in a casket is £500

Euthanasia + cremation = £800

It's great to hear that a couple of you have received euthansia + individual cremation + Out of Hours appointment fee + memorial keepsake all for £330 for your giant breed dogs .... Really, quite unbelievable that anyone is getting all of that done for close to £300 and even more unbelievable that you would tell us to change vets or that you are "outraged" that we'd even ask for donations to help cover the cost.

Unbelievably, we have received a handful of hateful & rude comments on our previous posts asking for donations but far more importantly, we have received dozens & dozens of beautiful, kind, heartfelt messages which have had me in tears. Reading how so many of you have followed Hunters journey, right from those early days and how he blossomed into the most incredible boy over the years. I've loved hearing how he touched your hearts or how his videos helped you with your own training journeys.
He was truly loved by so many who never even met him and to each & every one of you who has supported him over the years, we honestly can't thank you enough.

We have this one, last piece of fundraising to complete for him, to be able to bring him back home for the final time, where he belongs.

Please, if you can donate anything at all to his Fundraising Page then the details are here - we have to let the Crematorium know if we are going ahead with the cremation so please, please, donate if you can:

It's never been any secret that Hunter was our Sanctuary Dog and has been fully funded by KARAS Rescue throughout his time with us.
That was the deal - his Foster Home could love him / train him / care for him / keep him safe & do absolutely everything for him but COULD NOT afford to fund the expense of a giant breed dog long term.
We knew that.
We knew this information years ago!
And it was agreed, that with everyone's support & donations we could keep him under our wing and support him financially as he needed it.

Thankfully, he's been a fairly "cheap" dog and we've never really needed anything other than food & treats for him.

These past two weeks, he suddenly became ill and we needed the support of you all - financial support .... BIG financial support!
We used your donations to pay for his medications - both the initial meds from the vet plus we ordered a bulk delivery online. We couldn't have done that without your donations and his initial heart meds (5 days) = £160 .... First dose of anti sickness = £80 ... Online order for heart meds = £238 .... Second dose of anti sickness= £200 .... Blood tests to rule out infection = £300 ... Which comes to almost £1000 and was only possible thanks to all of the donations we received in the space of just a few days.
He needed urgent help.
We begged you for help.
And you all stepped up.

On top of that, we still have the actual examination/ the original General Anaesthetic so that he could have tests / the scans etc and the outstanding bill for this, as of Friday, is below and = £2000

Then the Foster Home who has loved & adored this boy for so many years decided that she'd like to bring him home - this was his home and it just felt like he should be back here with me so, we enquired about the prices to see if it would be possible and the quote from the Crematorium, for an individual cremation is below = £500

That puts us in debt of £2500.

We checked the PayPal account and worked out that we need £1400 to cover all of the above.

And so, a Go Fund Me Page was set up which, in the description, explains that the total covers his outstanding vet fees, his euthansia & his individual cremation.

No pressure. We, as always, have no shame in asking you all to support us if you can. It's how we operate. We always have done.
You don't need to support us if you don't want to. We understand that not everybody can but we also understand that many of you *do* like to support us if you can and we are always incredibly grateful for that support.

So, here we are. With a Fund Raising Page asking for £1400 so that we can bring Hunter home to the place where he was so loved and to clear his vet bill ... Along with some 'hate' comments in our previous post, below, from people who do not approve of these prices.

Also - the invoice below, from the vet doesn't even include the euthansia price yet. We'll receive an updated invoice with that included. The invoice below is for treatment up to & including Thursday nights visits.

We've managed to get Hunters medication down to £228 per month for his heart medication.

I know we've asked for A LOT of donations for him over this past week and we know that no one can afford much in the weeks leading up to Christmas but, we're hoping we might be able to find just a couple of hundred people to set up a donation for one or two pounds per month and that between us we might be able to cover his medication.

Please, please, if you can help our special boy, would you select the "make a monthly donation" option on the PayPal page, just for a couple of months - you can easily cancel it once the meds are no longer needed and we'll always keep you updated on this page.

Thank you 🐾🐾🐾

Our precious Stormy is still waiting for his perfect people to find him.
We've had lots of enquiries for this boy but not one Application has been followed through and people have backed out for various reasons.

Stormy is super friendly and loves everyone he meets. He's great with people & dogs and he pays no attention to cats or any wildlife he's met.

Just because Stormy is great with dogs DOES NOT mean that he enjoys over-the-top playtime. He's ideal scenario would be to greet some dog friends on a walk, maybe have a brief play and then move on.
When you *really* breakdown his behaviour and watch him closely you can see that he doesn't enjoy the rough & tumble or being jumped on and actually, even if he *did* enjoy it, it is not a behaviour we would want to allow or encourage.
He is so perfectly behaved around other dogs and we would be keen to keep him that way by making sure that he practices nice, calm polite greetings along with some brief playtime but his new family must know how to respect his wishes- when he's had enough and chooses to walk away then you'll need to make sure that you do just that.
For this reason, it is unlikely that we will re-home Stormy with other dogs unless your current dog is older / calmer / and will not keep bothering him to play.

Let's be clear - we absolutely ARE NOT saying that Stormy is not friendly with dogs. He has never met a dog that he doesn't like. He loves every dog he sees and has never snapped or shown any aggression.
We have, however, Assessed him properly and we can identify that crazy playtime is not him .... We are not looking for an owner that tries to change that or forces him to be more playful. We are looking for an owner who respects that. An owner who understands that not all dogs want the crazy play.

If you think you may be a good match for this gorgeous, perfect, handsome boy then please email us for an Adoption Application Form:
