When did soft leather become the definition of quality? ๐ง
After more than 30 years working with leather and horses, I've learnt one thing: the way leather feels in your hand doesnโt always tell the whole story.
Soft leather is understandably appealing, I get that. It looks beautiful and gives that immediate impression of quality.

In fact, some leather that feels incredibly soft from the very first use can be a sign of a lower quality hide or a leather that has been heavily processed to create that supple feel. While it may feel wonderful initially, it may not offer the same strength, durability or longevity as traditionally selected, well crafted leather.
The finest bridle leather is chosen for its ability to perform. It has the strength to withstand daily use, the structure to support your horse and the ability to soften naturally with time and care.
A handmade bridle is not just about how it feels on the first day; it is about how it performs years down the line.
Because true quality is something that develops with time.
Soft is lovely.
But strength, craftsmanship and longevity are what make leather exceptional ๐ช
