🦎FRIDAY VOLUNTEER WANTED🦎
We’re looking for a volunteer to join us on Fridays!
We’re open 10am–7pm, although I appreciate that’s a long old day, so I can be flexible with hours for the right person.
Now before anyone gets excited thinking this is a job where you cuddle reptiles all day… I’m afraid not.
There will be scrubbing bowls, scrubbing more bowls, cleaning tanks, cleaning things you didn’t know needed cleaning, and then probably going back to scrubbing bowls again.
You also unlock the exciting perk of occasionally getting bitten by something. It’s basically part of the benefits package.
You’ll also need to keep me entertained all day, so someone who enjoys a chat is VERY important. It genuinely does make the day go quicker!
Ideally, I’m looking for someone who:
• Is 18+
• Has a genuine interest in reptiles
• Ideally keeps reptiles themselves and has some existing knowledge
• Is reliable and willing to get stuck in
• Doesn’t mind the less glamorous side of animal care
• Is happy having a laugh and a chat
You won’t initially be dealing with customers.
And just to make this VERY clear:
THIS IS NOT A PAID ROLE.
THIS IS NOT A JOB VACANCY.
WE ARE NOT HIRING… YET.
We’re still a new business and aren’t in a position to employ anyone at the moment. This is purely a volunteer role.
BUT if someone sticks around long-term, becomes a valuable part of the shop and things continue to grow, there is a teeny weeny possibility it could potentially lead somewhere in the future.
No promises though — please don’t volunteer expecting a job!
