Many Tears Animal Rescue (Registered Charity #1192227) is a small rescue centre based in Wales. We rehome approx 3000 dogs per year, as well as cats and other animals. We take in mainly ex breeding dogs but also dogs from the pounds, public hand-ins and a small number from rescues abroad when we can. Many Tears Rescue also runs community programmes, volunteer groups, friendship clubs and hosts educational courses for different groups. It is such a happy place, full of positive energy and where the staff and volunteers work tirelessly to help the animals in their care. All animals that come to the rescue are assessed, health checked, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before being carefully adopted to their forever homes. Many of the animals arrive with health problems that need to be addressed and so the vet bills, along with the utility bills to heat the kennels and keep the place running are vast. We rely on donations and fundraisers to keep the rescue running and we are so grateful for your support support. Meet our sweet boy Otis 💛

Otis is a 1 year old Labrador who has come to us from a breeder to find his forever home. He is a very nervous boy who is feeling overwhelmed by all the changes in his life and finding his surroundings quite scary at the moment.

Otis is looking for a calm, quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex breeding dogs and understand that he will need plenty of time to settle in and build his confidence at his own pace. He will need at least one kind and confident resident dog to be his friend and companion, helping show him the ropes and teach him that the world isn’t such a scary place.✨

Otis loves spending time with his kennel friends, and as the days go by, we are starting to see more of his goofy and playful side shine through. It is so lovely to see little glimpses of the happy boy he is beginning to show us, and we truly believe that in the right home, he is going to grow into the most wonderful companion.☺️

He will also need a secure garden with 6ft+ fencing to keep him safe while he gains confidence. Otis has never lived in a home before, so his adopters will need to be patient and understanding as he learns all about home life, including house training.

Otis doesn’t yet walk on a lead and harness, so these will need to be introduced very gradually, starting with practice in the garden to help him feel safe and build his confidence.

We hope Otis doesn’t have to wait in kennels long and can soon become the young care free pup he should’ve always been ❤️

🏃‍♂️ Running for Many Tears Animal Rescue! 🐾💙

On 18th October, Matthew Flynn will be taking on the Great South Run, running an incredible 10 miles in memory of the much-loved Maureen Prest. 💙

Maureen sadly passed away almost two years ago, leaving a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved her. With Maureen’s love for animals inspiring him, Matthew has chosen to raise funds for Many Tears Animal Rescue in her memory.

We are so grateful to Matthew for thinking of our rescue and choosing to support the animals in our care. Every donation helps us provide the veterinary treatment, love and care our animals need as they wait for their forever homes. 🐶

Please meet our special girl Babs 🤎

She is a sweet 7 year old Bulldog who has come to us from a home through no fault of her own. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances, her owners are unable to keep her and so have made the difficult decision to rehome her. We don’t know much at all about her history but are told at one point she was used for breeding and may have had a few owners before ending up with her most recent family who she spent 3.5 years with.

Babs is good with other dogs, but can become a little jealous when they receive attention, so we feel she would be happiest as the only dog in her home, where she can have all the love and fuss to herself. She cannot live with cats or small furries.

She would love a home where her people are around for most of the day, and we would consider dog savvy children aged 9+ as she has previously lived with children!

Babs has arrived with a lump on her right shoulder that our vets will assess, along with some sore skin, a crusty nose and an ear infection she is currently receiving treatment for. She will also need regular cleaning of her face folds to keep her comfortable. 🫶🏽

This lovely, laid back girl seems happiest enjoying the simple things in life .. a comfy bed, gentle fuss and being close to her people.

We hope Babs finds a loving home where she can take life at her own pace, enjoy her little walks and finally be thoroughly spoiled just as she deserves. ❤️

Meet our sweet and gentle girl, Orange 🧡

Orange is a 5 year old Labrador who has come to us from a breeder. At the moment, she is incredibly shy and will often turn her head away from us, almost as if she wants to make herself as small as possible.

Orange is looking for a calm and quiet household where she can take things at her own pace and settle in her own time. She will need at least one kind and confident doggie in her home to be her best friend and guide her through the big, wide world. A friend who can help her learn that humans aren’t scary and that there is so much fun to be had! 🫶🏽

Orange is still learning to walk on a lead, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she continues to learn. She will also need a nice, secure garden where she can safely explore while her confidence grows.

Although Orange is a little shy, we would consider rehoming her with teenagers aged 16+ who have lived with dogs before and can offer her the calm, understanding environment she needs.

Orange has so much potential to become the most amazing dog, and we hope her forever home comes along soon so she can finally settle, find her confidence and enjoy the life she deserves. 🧡

Our vets have noted that Orange has a mammary lump, which will be assessed at the time of her spay.

We’d like to introduce you to this handsome chap who has the saddest of stories, and we’re hoping someone will come forward to turn his life around🥺

This beautiful cat is Dylan. Dylan is a 9 year old Domestic Shorthair who came to Many Tears back in November last year to be one of our barn cats, but his story didn’t begin there…

Dylan originally came from a home and was left behind to fend for himself after the family moved away & decided not to take him. After years of straying, a local cat rescue took him in back in May 2025 and was handed to us to become one of our cherished barn cats💗

Dylan was used to being outdoors & settled into barn cat life quickly and has been with us since. He struggled to warm up to us, but having trusted humans before & being let down, we completely understood. He proved to be a favourite among the staff and would often wait outside their sections to steal food off them (even after he’d been fed🤭)!

Sadly a few weeks ago, Dylan was hit by a car & as a result of his injuries, he’s had to have his right hind leg amputated. We couldn’t bare the thought of him being a barn cat after he’d recovered, so we’ve made the decision to try & rehome him, so he can live out his retirement years back at home with a family he’s always deserved❤️‍🩹

He’s recovering wonderfully & is slowly getting used to humans again, often allowing gentle fuss and handling. The trust he once lost in people is slowly rebuilding, and we’d love for a family to take him in and treat him like the prince he is👑!!

Dylan has an old eye injury which he arrived to us with. Our vets have suggested it’s likely an old ulcer that has ruptured, but thankfully it is now healed & doesn’t appear to cause any pain or discomfort🐾

Dylan really hasn’t had the easiest life, he’s been let down and he’s needing to be built up again with lots of love, patience & understanding. He’s shown us how well he can cope & adapt to change, and we hope and pray his forever family finds him soon😽

🩵 WE’RE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF KENNEL DISINFECTANT! 🩵

We are running desperately low on Agricide Kennel Disinfectant, which we use every day to keep our kennels clean, safe and hygienic for all the dogs in our care. 🐾

Meet Milo, a 1 year old Staffy cross & the sweeeeetest boy who has found himself looking for a new home through absolutely no fault of his own❤️‍🩹

He’s already been through more changes in his young life than any dog should have to, so it’s no surprise that he can feel a little worried in new surroundings. He takes comfort from people he knows, and once he feels safe, his lovely personality really starts to shine. A home as an only dog is a must so he can soak up all the love & attention to himself💗

He absolutely loves being close to his people and firmly believes he’s the perfect lap dog. He’ll happily climb up for a cuddle and soak up all the affection on offer. He’s a sensitive soul who just needs a kind, patient family to help him build his confidence and show him that he’s finally somewhere he can feel safe🥰

Although he’s missed out on some socialisation, he’s working hard on his doggy manners and making lovely progress. He can walk happily alongside calm dogs and has enjoyed some nice greetings. He’s still figuring out how to navigate certain situations and can sometimes get a little overexcited when mixing with other dogs. He may also react if another dog barks at him first while he’s on lead, so his new family will need to understand this and help him with calm, positive guidance!!

An adult-only home with people experienced with bull breeds is essential, as he’ll need a family who understands their sensitive side. He’ll need time, patience and plenty of reassurance while he settles in, with any time left home alone introduced gradually🐾

After everything he’s been through, this lovely boy deserves a home where he can finally relax and be himself. With the right people, continued positive socialisation and lots of love, I’m sure he’ll blossom into a wonderful companion. All he really wants is to feel safe, loved and, of course, have a lap to call his own💖

Meet our big beautiful girl, Helga🩶

Helga is a 6-year-old lovely lady who originally came into our care a few years ago, and was adopted into a loving home where she spent several happy years. Sadly, she’s now back with us as it wasn’t the right long term match, and she’s looking for her forever home once again🥺!!!

Helga is a big softie with people and absolutely loves fuss and attention! Weighing in at 47kg, she doesn’t quite realise her size and loves leaning against you for cuddles. She’s affectionate, calm and has quickly become a favourite with everyone who meets her. She’s been lucky enough to stay in our onsite cabin with one of her kennel mummies during night shifts, and it was clear as day she’s missed her home comforts💖

She’s generally good with other dogs but can be selective and unpredictable around some, so she’ll need to be the only dog in the home. Her adopters must have experience with reactive dogs and understand how to manage her around others when out and about🐾

She cannot live with cats or small furries and must be kept on lead around birds and livestock!!

Helga would love quiet adventures and time outdoors, but she’s equally happy being a gigantic couch potato. You really do get the best of both worlds with her🤭

She can live with dog-savvy teenagers aged 13+ who understand and respect her needs. She’s strong on the lead, so children must not be responsible for walking her🏡

Helga has arrived overweight and is now on a diet to help her reach a healthy weight, she’s already lost over 1kg since her arrival n Her back legs appear affected by this, and she’s receiving joint supplements to support her as she loses weight🥰

✨Her DNA test showed 46% Giant Schnauzer, 44% Caucasian Shepherd Dog, 3% Saint Bernard, 2% Black Russian Terrier and 2% German Shepherd✨

This wonderful girl has stolen the hearts of all who meets her, she has the most beautiful nature to her and will make one family extremely lucky (one day soon we hope)!!! Helga’s world has been turned upside down, and all she needs is the perfect people to put it right for her💗
