💔 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡: 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗨𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞
At just a few months old, a tiny, helpless puppy turned up at Sharon’s sanctuary gates. It was as if his scent had led him there, knowing it was a safe haven. Sharon took him in with open arms, and a wonderful forever home was lined up almost immediately. How could anyone not fall in love with this gorgeous boy?

But then, everything shattered.🥲

Sherlock became incredibly sick. He was in obvious pain, in deep distress, and absolutely shut down. The diagnosis was devastating: Meningitis.

Steroids initially gave him his puppy spring back, but they aren't a long-term solution. When the vets safely tapered him off, Sherlock immediately relapsed into agonising pain. A couple of weeks ago, the terrifying decision was made to rush him to a specialist animal hospital.

It has been touch and go. It’s been an incredibly worrying, upsetting, and exhausting time for Sharon and our entire team. He managed to leave the hospital, only to rapidly decline and be rushed straight back in.

💪🏻The Current Battle
Thankfully, Sherlock is a fighter and he pulled through the worst of it. Specialists are still running exhaustive tests, but they believe a severe infection in his spine is triggering this horrific reaction. Right now, he can only be stabilised with steroids while they fight the underlying cause.

Our Pot is Dry and We Need You🙏
Sherlock has been through more in his short life than any dog ever should. His specialist medical care has cost an absolute fortune, and our medical funds are completely depleted. He still has a long road ahead, and the vet bills are mounting daily.

We cannot give up on him now. He has fought too hard.

Juno was cracking the whip this afternoon and made sure The Chief Dogs Body (Adam) got the flail mower out and cut the meadow.

Juno was very pleased with the outcome and has given permission for a few Gin and Tonics by way of reward 😁😁😁

Juno watched last week’s Europa League Final on the TV in his favourite Aston Villa scarf with the rest of the Claude’s Meadow Team.

He kindly granted permission for 3 days annual leave to the General Dogs Body aka ‘Adam’ to go to Istanbul and be there in person.

The Claude’s Meadow Team are ecstatic that Aston Villa returned as European Champions.

Due to the current hot weather we are temporarily opening up some early morning and late evening slots for those that need them.

These are not available on the booking system so please message the page to book.

6am - 6:45am
7am - 7:45am
8pm - 8:45pm
9pm - 9:45pm (please bring a torch)

Available everyday until things cools down a little.

Juno has been slacking off again and is late. He would like to apologise but he has been rather busy hunting rabbits and chewing his new deer antler. 🐶

A tough decision but the results are in:

It’s the last day for getting your best photo of your dog or dogs having fun at Claude’s Meadow in!

Here are some for the Let’s Walk About It gang living their best lives here in April! (Apparently sausages are a great way to get your dogs to pose 😂😂) - fantastic!

Please message the page with your best photo with some details about your dog such as age, breed, anything interesting about them etc.

Winners will receive 3 free sessions, 2nd place will get 2 and 3rd will get one.

🚨SOME GREAT NEWS 🥳 & NOT SO GREAT NEWS 😔 🚨

Great News - we’ve just donated another £150 to The Pointer Rescue Service 🙌🏻

This brings the total donated this calendar year to £455 and a total of £3782.48 since we opened!

This money really does help make a difference!

We couldn’t do it without you guys and we really appreciate your support. Awesome - thank you 🫶🏻 🤩

Not So Great News - We’ve recently noticed an increase in uncollected dog waste, and today a very kind customer picked up five missed deposits late this afternoon—thank you to them.

We’d like to remind everyone that it is your responsibility to keep your dog in sight at all times and to clean up after them. While we understand that the occasional one might be missed, the current level is becoming unacceptable.

We do have CCTV in place, but we would much prefer not to review footage or have to follow up with individuals about this. We hope it doesn’t come to that.

This is a shared space enjoyed by both dogs and children, and we’re committed to keeping it as clean and safe as possible for everyone.

If you do come across any missed waste, please feel free to mark it with a flag and we will take care of it.
