And just like that… Tuesday is done! ✨🐾

What a day it has been!
So many beautiful dogs through the salon doors, all leaving fresh, fluffy and smelling amazing… for at least 24 hours if their guardians are lucky! 🤣

Tomorrow is a slightly quieter day for Dani & Fallon before we’re back at it again for another 8am-8pm marathon on Thursday. 💪🐶

A special mention has to go to our Fish, who visited us this morning.
Affectionately nicknamed “Gob 💩” by Dani (and there really isn’t much left to the imagination as to why he earned that title 🤣), Fish has been coming to us for almost 9 years now.

When you’ve groomed a dog for that long, they become much more than a client.
Fish is very much part of the fixtures and fittings around here and has built a truly special bond with Dani over the years. 🥰

It’s one of the things we love most about what we do.
Watching puppies grow up, seeing senior dogs through their golden years, and becoming part of their journey along the way. ❤️

See you all tomorrow! 🐾

🐾 The Strange Things Groomers Find! 🐾

Toto came for his very first groom with us this morning and what an absolute angel he was from start to finish! ❤️

As part of every groom, we carry out a full health and welfare check, including checking paws, nails, skin, coat, ears and anything else that may need monitoring. During Toto’s paw check, Dani spotted something a little unusual…

At some point, Toto appears to have fractured one of his nails and somehow a piece of cotton or fabric had become embedded into the damaged nail and had effectively fused into it! 😳

Toto did need a nail trim today and the nail was carefully shortened. However, Dani intentionally left it longer than she normally would and avoided trimming back to the fracture line. While we could have filed it back further with the Dremel, there were simply too many unknowns. We don’t know how old the fracture is, where the quick sits within that nail, and with Toto having black nails it makes it even more difficult to safely assess. As this was also his very first visit with us, we weren’t prepared to take any risks that could cause discomfort, bleeding, or leave him with a negative grooming experience.

This was fully discussed with Toto’s guardian, who has been advised to keep a close eye on the nail and seek advice from their veterinarian should there be any concerns.

It’s a great reminder of why regular nail checks are so important. Nail problems can often go unnoticed until they become painful or problematic. Regular grooming appointments allow us to spot these little issues early and help keep your dogs comfortable, mobile and happy. 🐾

Sometimes we find grass seeds…
Sometimes we find mud…
And sometimes we find mysterious cotton-fused toenails! 🤣

You never quite know what a groomer’s day will bring!

🐾 NAIL CLIPPING APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE 🐾

Did you know that overgrown nails can cause far more than just a clicking noise on the floor?

Long nails can alter the way your dog stands and walks, placing extra strain on their feet, joints, tendons and spine.

Over time, this can contribute to discomfort, reduced mobility and even long-term musculoskeletal issues.

Regular nail maintenance is one of the simplest ways to support your dog’s overall health and wellbeing.

✨ Nail Clipping - £20
✨ Puppy Nail Clipping - £10

As part of every appointment we will:

✔️ Check your dog’s paw health
✔️ Inspect nails and nail beds
✔️ Trim excess hair from between the paw pads where required
✔️ Monitor for any concerns that may need veterinary attention

Hair growing between the paw pads can act like a pair of fluffy slippers on hard flooring.
This reduces grip and can increase the risk of slips, falls and injuries, particularly in puppies, senior dogs, dogs with arthritis, mobility issues or recovering from surgery.
Keeping the paws neat and tidy helps improve traction and stability while allowing us to keep a close eye on the overall health of your dog’s feet.

We recommend nail maintenance every 4 weeks for most dogs to keep nails at a healthy length and prevent the quick from overgrowing.

📅 Pre-booked appointments only
💳 Payment required at the time of booking

To book your dog’s appointment, please contact us via phone, message, website or online booking portal.

Monday afternoon already!

After a lovely few days away from the salon, we are back open tomorrow and ready for another busy week of making dogs feel fabulous. ✂️🐾

This week we’re open Tuesday to Friday, and we can’t wait to welcome all our four-legged visitors through the door.

This afternoons video features the gorgeous Luna, who was thoroughly enjoying soaking up all the attention and demanding plenty of belly rubs! 🥰

For those of you who have followed Luna’s journey with us, you’ll know what a huge difference this is.
The little girl who first came through our doors lacked confidence and found the grooming environment quite overwhelming.
Fast forward to the present and she’s rolling over for tummy tickles, completely relaxed and enjoying every moment of the fuss. 💕

Watching dogs grow in confidence and build trust is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. It’s never just about the groom. It’s about the relationship, the patience, and helping each dog feel safe enough to be themselves.

“Trust is built in moments, not milestones.” ✨

Have a wonderful afternoon/evening everyone, and we’ll see you and your pups from 8am tomorrow! 🐶

🐾 Did Someone Say Hairy Beast? 🐾

Luna came in for her groom this morning and it is safe to say her spay coat has well and truly taken over! 😅

For those who don’t know, when a female dog is spayed the hormonal changes can sometimes affect the texture and growth cycle of the coat. It often becomes thicker, fluffier, woollier and much more prone to matting, especially in breeds like Spaniels, Retrievers and Setters. While it might look adorable, it can be much harder to maintain and often requires more regular grooming to keep it comfortable and healthy.

Being a Spaniel, Luna brought her usual dose of sass, opinions and personality with her and we are absolutely here for it! 💁‍♀️✨

After losing what felt like an entire second dog worth of floof, Luna was feeling much lighter, much cooler and ready to enjoy her weekend in style. ❤️

“Life isn’t about having less fluff… it’s about having the right amount of fluff.” 😆

You ever spend ages cleaning, stand back admiring your hard work, and then hear the unmistakable sound of something very cute and very clever pottering about…? 👀

Well… that was us last night. 🙈

Chester had just finished his latest back garden investigation mission when Kara had finished cleaning the window ledge, which just so happens to be one of our dogs’ favourite spots for keeping an eye on the world outside.

One dusty spaniel later and… BOOM 💥

The cleaning was officially undone. 🤣

As it was already 8:30pm and we’d reached the “that can be tomorrow’s problem” stage of the evening, it was unanimously decided that the window ledge would be re-cleaned this morning. 😂

Although, with this delightful Yorkshire rain we’re having, who knows how long the white walls will actually stay white for! ☔🐾

Would we change it? Absolutely not. Life would be far too boring without muddy paw prints and curious little noses. ❤️

Meet Daisy… possibly the laziest dog we have ever had the pleasure of grooming! 😂

Daisy is one of our regular nail trim girls and visits us every month, but today she also treated herself to a deshed.

Most dogs stand for their groom…

Not Daisy. 🤣

Daisy has perfected the art of laying down for absolutely everything. Nails? Lay down. Brushing? Lay down. Deshed? Definitely lay down. If she could find a way to snooze through the whole appointment, she absolutely would!

The best bit is that she is completely unbothered by the entire process. No drama, no fuss, no complaints. She simply flops herself down and lets us get on with it while she conserves every last bit of energy. 😂

Then Dad arrives…

Suddenly Daisy remembers she has emotions and gives him the biggest puppy dog eyes imaginable as if she’s had the hardest day of her life. The performance is worthy of an Oscar every single time! 🥺🤣

We adore this gorgeous girl and her commitment to doing the absolute minimum never fails to make us laugh. ❤️🐾
