Did you know it’s the same cat in both photos? 😅
The photo on the left shows Brownie as a teenager. The one on the right is the same boy as a fully grown adult.
One of the funniest things about Ragdolls is that they don’t grow up overnight. Or even two overnights 🤪
You reserve a tiny fluffy marshmallow… 🥰 🥹then a few months later you bring home what looks like a long-legged teenager with oversized ears, a skinny tail and a face that makes you wonder… “Are you sure this is the same kitten?” 🤔
Don’t worry. It is.👌
Ragdolls need time to mature. They slowly develop their broad head, powerful body and luxurious coat over the next few years (not days).
And then there is the coat…
Ragdolls have a summer coat and a winter coat, but nobody seems to have told them what season it is. 🤷🏼♀️Some decide to wear their summer coat in the middle of winter and their winter coat when spring arrives.
When they are in a lighter coat, their ears look bigger, their face seems longer, their tail is less fluffy and they appear much slimmer than you would expect from a breed known for its substantial build.
Patience is the magic ingredient.
One day you will look at your awkward teenager… and suddenly there is a magnificent Ragdoll sitting in front of you. 🥰
Ragdolls need time, and every stage of their development is beautiful 🥰
