🐾 If you’re the person who worries about leaving your pet with someone else… we might just be the right fit for you. 🐾

Hi, I’m Alex, the person behind Alex’s Pet Sitting, caring for pets in and around the beautiful Lake District. 🐶🐱

I didn’t come from a traditional animal care background. For most of my 20s, I worked supporting children in care and adults in residential care.

That experience taught me so much about trust, anxiety, different behaviours and, most importantly, feeling safe with the person looking after you.

And that’s something I carry into my pet care every single day.

Because sometimes, your pet isn’t the only one who needs reassurance… you do too.❤️

You’re the one who worries when you leave them.

You’re the one who wants to know if they’re okay.

You’re the one who doesn’t want to leave your beloved pet with just "anyone".

I completely understand.

That’s why my approach is calm, personal and relationship-led.🐾

🐱 For cats: I care for them in their own homes, keeping them comfortable, settled and in their usual routine. I take things at their pace — whether they’re my best friend from the moment I walk through the door or they need a little (or a LOT 😹) more time to trust me.

🐶 For dogs: I offer solo walks, giving them my full attention. I take the time to learn their little quirks, their likes and dislikes and all those little things that make them *them*.

Because I don’t want you to find someone who is simply “available.”

I want you to find someone you can genuinely trust.

Someone who gets to know your pet.

Someone who notices the little things.

Someone who makes you feel:

"I know they’re in safe hands.” ❤️

My diary is currently **busy, busy, busy**, but I’m taking enquiries for future bookings and i love welcoming new clients to the Alex's Pet Sitting family!

Looking back on Summer 2026… 🐾

As summer starts to come to an end, we’ve been taking a little moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy few months!

We’ve been so lucky to have had another summer filled with walks, cuddles, adventures, overnight stays and, of course, lots of happy faces and waggy tails. 🐶🐱

But more than anything, we feel incredibly grateful for YOU!!!.... our amazing clients who continue to trust us with your beloved pets and support our small business.

Running a pet-sitting business isn’t always easy, and like many small businesses, we’ve seen some difficult times and sadly watched other wonderful pet businesses around us close.

That makes us even more grateful to still be here, doing what we absolutely love — caring for your pets as if they were our own. 🐾

To every single one of our wonderful clients, thank you.❤️

I just wanted to give you all a little heads-up that from December 2026, I’ll be making a small increase to my pet sitting and dog walking prices.

This isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly, but with the rising cost of living, my change of career, and the fact that I haven’t increased my prices in at least two years, I feel it’s the right time to make a change.

I’ve always tried to keep my prices as fair and affordable as possible, and I’ll continue to do my very best to make sure my services remain accessible while also allowing me to continue doing what I love — caring for your wonderful pets.

I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of you who supports my little business and trusts me with your furry family members. It genuinely means the world to me.

So, you’ve welcomed the cutest new member of the family… and suddenly your days are filled with toilet trips, chewed shoes, muddy paws and wondering if you’ll ever enjoy a quiet cup of coffee again! 😂
