Heddiw yw Diwrnod Cyfoethogi Cŵn! Canine Enrichment Day 🐾

Canine enrichment doesn’t have to mean buying another puzzle toy.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best:

🐶 letting your dog stop and sniff
🐶 scattering a few treats in the grass
🐶 hiding treats in cardboard boxes
🐶 playing a short training game
🐶 exploring somewhere new
🐶 giving your dog choices about what they’d like to investigate

Here, Zuni is using her nose, searching, exploring and working things out for herself. 💛

Enrichment is really about giving our dogs opportunities to use their brains, bodies and senses in ways they enjoy.

It doesn’t need to take ages either. Sometimes 3 minutes of something fun is plenty.

🐾 Un lle ar ôl! | One space left! 🐾

Our next Puppy FUNdamentals course starts on Monday 14 September, and there’s just one space left.

If you’ve got a young puppy and would like help building good foundations from the start, we’ll be working on practical skills to help with everyday family life, including calmness, focus, confidence and connection.

The classes are small, friendly and games-based, with a maximum of 4 dogs, so there’s plenty of time to support each puppy and family.

Mae’r pethau bach yn gwneud gwahaniaeth mawr. 🐾

Loose lead walking doesn’t have to look perfect.

It’s about helping our dogs learn that staying connected with us is worthwhile, while still giving them time to sniff, explore and enjoy their walk.

Little moments like these are what we practise for. 💛

A new class is starting this September!

This 6-week course is all about learning fun tricks and games that also build useful real-life skills.

We’ll be working on things like confidence, focus, body awareness, communication and working together, all through enjoyable, positive training.

We have just finished the first NSDA meeting of the new academic year! 🐾

It was wonderful to get the National School Dog Alliance team back together (well, part of the team... it's still August, after all).

We managed to catch up, share ideas, discuss the year ahead and, of course, talking ALL things school dogs and to help them! 🐶❤️

We’re incredibly lucky to have such a knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated group of professionals working together to promote safe, ethical and effective school dog practice.

There is so much exciting work ahead, and we can’t wait to see what the new academic year brings! ✨

Here’s to another year of helping schools, children, staff AND dogs thrive together!!! 💙

Hwyl fawr i ffrind annwyl iawn! 💔

Rydym fel teulu wedi cael sioc mawr pan aethon ni i'r milfeddyg gyda Bryn achos doedd e ddim moyn ei fwyd a ffeindio allan bod canser gyda fe. Roedd e wedi bod yn bachgen ddewr iawn a rydym yn ddiolgar ac yn cofio''r diwrnodau hapus rydyn ni gyd wedi cael gyda fe. Nos da cariad bach!

We had a horrible shock earlier this week when we took Bryn to the vet. He had been off his food and lost weight quickly. He had too many tumours to survive. He was such a brave boy and we are eternally thankul and remembering the happy days we all had with him. Sleep tight little one! 💔

Sometimes the best moments with our dogs are the ones where absolutely nothing is happening.

Just being together, feeling safe and comfortable, and enjoying a bit of quiet company.
