💥💥 RANT INCOMING 💥💥
Firstly, I am incredibly grateful for the amount of interest we receive here at Fell End Staffords. The fact that people are willing to wait months, sometimes even years, for one of our puppies means the absolute world to me. ❤️
However, there’s something that is becoming increasingly frustrating, and after speaking to other breeders, it seems I’m certainly not alone!
Waiting lists, communication and basic manners!
I currently have people on my waiting lists who joined along time ago, today and with families already making plans for 2027 and beyond.
I spend countless hours speaking to potential owners, answering questions, discussing our dogs, health testing, pedigrees, future plans and making sure we’re the right breeder for them.
I then spend time keeping everyone updated as plans progress, pregnancies are confirmed and puppies arrive.
And sometimes, despite all that effort, I get absolutely no response. Not even a thumbs up! 🤦♀️
I don’t expect lengthy conversations every time I send an update. A simple acknowledgement or a quick thank you is absolutely fine!
What I do expect is a little courtesy.
If your circumstances have changed, you’ve decided the timing isn’t right or you’ve found a puppy elsewhere, that’s absolutely fine! Life happens, plans change and I completely understand that.
But please, just tell me!
I won’t be offended, I won’t question your decision and I’ll genuinely wish you all the best.
What I do find disrespectful is spending months keeping someone informed, only to be ignored or discover they’ve already purchased elsewhere without letting me know.
I put a great deal of effort into making sure our puppies have carefully selected, loving homes waiting for them, ideally before they’re even born.
I don’t take endless names simply to have a huge waiting list. I try to plan responsibly around the genuine interest we receive, which is why communication is so important.
Joining a waiting list should be something you’ve properly considered, not simply putting your name down with five different breeders to see who produces puppies first.
Please research your breeder thoroughly before applying. Make sure you’re happy with their dogs, their ethics, their health testing, their prices and their process.
I encourage everyone to do their homework before choosing Fell End Staffords.
And please remember, there is only one of me! ❤️
Alongside raising our puppies, caring for all our adult dogs and running the day to day responsibilities, I also have a family and a life outside of breeding (all be it mostly other business not pleasure 🤣)
I genuinely do my very best to respond to everyone, often spending hours answering messages across WhatsApp, Facebook and other platforms.
My time is valuable, just as yours is.
So, moving forward, I am seriously considering introducing a small application fee to join our waiting lists.
This isn’t something I’ve wanted to do, as I’ve always been happy to do things off mutual respect and trust for one and other. However, with the number of enquiries we receive and the amount of time involved, I feel it may be necessary to ensure applications are genuine.
I will also be reviewing our existing lists. If updates and messages are ignored, I will assume you’re no longer interested and offer the opportunity to another family.
I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

You are the reason I love what I do, and I appreciate every single one of you.
My puppies aren’t products sitting on a shelf. They are living, breathing little lives that I pour my heart, time and energy into, and finding them the very best homes will always be my priority.
All I ask in return is a little respect, honesty and communication.
