🐾 A few final tips from us…

We’ve had lots of new customers joining Eden Valley Pet Foods lately, so this week we’ve been sharing some of the advice we regularly give when changing a dog or cat onto their new food.

During the changeover:

💧 Keep plenty of fresh water available.
👀 Keep an eye on stools, appetite and energy levels.
📅 Sensitive pets may be happier changing over across 10–14 days.
🐾 Most importantly — go at your pet’s pace.

And if you’re unsure about anything, just ask.

We’re not here to simply drop a bag of food at the door — we’re always happy to offer friendly advice and help you find the right food for your pet.

Samples are also available if you’d like your dog or cat to try before committing to a bag.

🐾 Changing onto a new food? Here’s the simple guide we give our new customers.

As we’ve welcomed more new customers recently, we’ve been explaining how best to introduce their new Eden Valley food.

A good starting point is:

Days 1–2: 75% old / 25% new
Days 3–4: 50% old / 50% new
Days 5–6: 25% old / 75% new
Day 7: 100% new 🎉

Some dogs and cats adapt quickly, while others need a little longer — and that’s absolutely fine.

If your pet has a particularly sensitive tummy, simply slow things down and extend the changeover.

We’ve been helping quite a few new dogs and cats make the move onto Eden Valley Pet Foods recently, so we thought we’d share some of the handy advice we give our new customers.

One of the most important tips? Don’t change food overnight.

A gradual change gives your pet’s digestive system time to adjust and can help avoid an upset tummy.

Over the next few posts, we’ll share our simple changeover guide and a few tips to help things go smoothly.

Coming soon – our Super Premium bags are changing to 13.5kg

We wanted to give customers a quick update that our Super Premium 15kg bags will soon be changing to 13.5kg bags.

The key thing to know is this:
🐾 the trusted recipe inside remains the same

So while the bag size will be changing, you can still expect the same quality food your dog knows and enjoys.

We’ll keep you updated as the new 13.5kg Super Premium bags begin to arrive.

Engine Lonning in Carlisle has been transformed with a new accessible path, seating, wildlife mosaics and features celebrating the area’s Roman and railway heritage.

It could make an interesting addition to a local dog walk, while the improved path should make the area easier for more people to enjoy.

There’s also a FREE Discovery Day on Sunday 6 September, from 12pm–4pm.

Please keep dogs under control and always clean up after them. 🐾

🐾 Patterdale Dog Day 2026 🐾

If you’re looking for a proper Cumbrian day out with your dog, Patterdale Dog Day returns on Saturday 29 August for its 120th traditional show.

Held at King George V Playing Field, the day centres around open sheepdog trials, with plenty of other country-show attractions to enjoy against a stunning Lakeland backdrop.

We won’t be attending this year, but it looks like a cracking day out for dogs and their people!
