Maggie was joined by Murphy, Daphne, Alby, Rufus, Baloo, Eric and Benny for another of our jaunts along the beach at Allonby along to Maryport and back. Think we had the best of the day as the rain only started to fall on the way home. Exhausted dogs again I hope.

I fancied another walk through Gelt Woods again today with Baloo, Halle, Indy, Lexi, Ernie, Murphy, Rex and Daphne. Schools aren’t back until tomorrow but it was very quiet. Still didn’t stop our guys having a great time. We continued up to Greenwell then back through the woods and round the Unity Farm loop. A lovely walk.

Summer might be coming to an end but it was another beautiful day on the fells above Geltsdale for Rex, Baloo, Halle, Indy, Ernie and Murphy. For a change we started at Jocky Shield. Took the high path onto Talkin Fell, from there onto Simmerson Hill and a last climb onto Brown Fell. It’s so peaceful up there, hardly saw another soul.

Really enjoyed today’s walk with Rex, Baloo, Murphy, Alby, Rufus, Benny and Eric. We started off on familiar ground with the lovely walk along the River Petteril and through Wreay Woods. As we got back to the car park We took a path that I have noticed recently, still following the Petteril but going towards town. We followed it along to the play area off London Rd. I presume it’s the same path that goes on past Lady Guildfords. A new one for me but I will certainly use it again.

My first real fell walk since starting up again. Hard work but I loved it. Only a select few with me today, Halle, Indy and Ernie. We started with a slow walk up onto High Pike. It was lovely and sunny with a nice breeze, I was a little concerned by the lack of water for the dogs. I was assured by a couple I was talking to that there was still plenty of water between Mitton Hill and Carrock Fell. So that was the way we headed. A fantastic day in glorious weather. I notice someone has knocked the top off the cairn on Carrock Fell again 😡

It was a great day for a walk on Allonby beach along to Maryport and back for Murphy, Alby, Rufus, Baloo, Eric and Benny. Even though we are bang in the middle of the holidays there was hardly anyone on the beach. All the more space for our guys to run around.

I didn’t leave Maggie’s name out by accident. She is now 11yrs old and has been on monthly injections and daily tablets for arthritis in her shoulders. She loves a good 3/4 mile walk round Wetheral but on Maggie’s Treks we are doing over double those distances. Those extra miles aren’t agreeing with her. She isn’t retired, but certainly semi-retired. Although it is the right decision, it was horrible leaving her at home today.

Maggie was joined today by Baloo, Halle, Indy, Ernie, Murphy and Rex. We were also honoured to be joined by No 4 Grandchild, William. It was back up to Geltsdale for the first time since my op. The heights are fairly modest but it is climbing as opposed to walking and it showed me that I need to do a fair bit more training before I head back down to The Lakes. It was a brilliant day with great company. I’ve really missed this ‘job’.@
