We are pleased to welcome Ed to the Solway Equine team!

Ed is a 2020 graduate of the University of Queensland, Australia with experience in referral and first opinion practice and racetrack veterinary work. Since moving to the UK in 2023, he has completed a hospital internship at the University of Liverpool, first opinion and lameness work in the Midlands, and most recently, a surgical internship in Kildare, Ireland.

His interests include general practice medicine, lameness, racing, and surgery. Ed will be based at Solway full time, with one day per week at Hambleton Equine for surgery.

We're sorry to announce that Stuart has left Solway Equine Vets to pursue new oppurtunities and we wish him the best of luck in his new venture. We are actively recruiting a vet to join the practice but until we find the right person your horses will be looked after by experienced vets from Cheviot Vets and Hambleton Equine Clinic, ably assisted by SEV nurse, Hannah. Please continue to contact us and book appointments as normal.

We are excited to announce that in 2026 we will be extending our Zone Visit area. These visits will now be offered on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday according to the areas shown on the map below.

The Zone Visit fee of £15 will continue to be charged and payment prior to the appointment or on the day is required. As before, you will be given a morning or afternoon slot for appointments and the vet will call to let you know when they are around 30 minutes away. These appointments are strictly for routine work only.

Additionally on these days non-routine work can be booked in the areas outlined with a 10% discounted visit fee based on your usual visit charge.
