Thank you to everyone out there buying little flower plugs!!! I’m overwhelmed with the response, so delighted to see so many of you looking for shorter supply chains and local, sustainable options. I was too!!

If anyone has any questions on overwintering please do feel free to drop me a line. There’s also the blog on the website which explains a bit on the different ways to keep your plants happy in the colder months (link is in bio for that guy).

The first cute plants will be flying out across Scotland this very day ✨

Happy Sunday guys!!!!

I’m suuuuuuper excited today to share with you the launch of our beautiful cut flower plug plant range 🎉🪴

I’ve been looking for a Scottish supplier of cut flower seedlings since I can remember but never been able to find the varieties I wanted to grow at the times I wanted to grow them. I figured there must be other people looking for the chance to grow locally produced plants too so here we are!!!

I’ve been working super hard behind the scenes getting my plant passport (which allows me to ship little seedlings) and selecting the right varieties for our climate. I’ve tried and tested sooooo many and now have a really great selection (link in bio) that I’m super proud of.

There is also a blog post for those of you new to overwintering, a bit of advice on how to proceed to get the best out of your plug plants.

There’s a couple of varieties new to me this year, I thought it would be fun for us to grow them together. Winter can be tough for us gardeners, the overwintering does bring joy!!

Have a look, I hope you love them!

Jenn xx

Rushing out the door this morning I had to stop and snap these two colour ways.

I’m still working out an area for me to work / photograph the flowers in, I’ve been in our car port but the weather is turning fast here. I’ve been feeling the chill creep into my fingers in the mornings never mind losing the light. The wind blowing through during summer was a welcome breeze but a bit too strong and sharp as the season turns.

But no lights or studio set up required for these flowers, such incredible blooms do all the work for me.

Morning guys!

A shot of some of this week’s totally gorgeous flowers heading up to Lush Buchanan street to brightening up your weekend.

These big dahlias do not travel well so are super expensive imports generally reserved for event work. The imports also come with added air miles and chemicals. Ew. They’re here for a good time, not a long time so please go get yourself along for some, they’re so incredible in real life 😍

Fun fact, the Romans brought dahlias over here as a food source. The whole plant is edible, the tubers used like you would a potato. You’ll find me sprinkling petals over everything until October 🎉

I’ve been so busy setting up the new space I wanted to share a quick what’s going on in the main garden at the wonderful - it’s full of beauty and magic ✨ Although it may be substantially less flowery once I’m done this morning 😬

One of the hardest parts of starting up a flower farm for me was finding land (once I’d filled my garden to max capacity… and over!). The team at Ardardan went out on a limb letting me create this flower patch nestled within their beautiful estate and I couldn’t be more grateful to them and the whole team for all for their support and kindness along my flowery journey 🥰

It’s all things wonderful here and I feel very lucky every time I’m along working that I get to be a small part of the gang in this gorgeous place.

The past week here at Wylde Florence jammed into a fast paced reel with some quite questionable photo quality, tah dah! 🤗

It’s actually just a tiny bit of what’s been going on but it’s been a great week in flower world!! More and more flowers coming through on the new field, we won’t be fully going until next year but I’m so enjoying seeing plants respond so well to their new homes.

I’m still laying new beds, working out my new growing conditions and soil, planting perennials, planning next year’s growing calendar, sowing seed for next year, feeding, harvesting and delivering my current crops and on major pest control at the new space. It’s all go!!
Huge thanks to my husband for always being on hand to help carry flowers up Buchanan Street 😆

Happy weekend guys! 💞

Yesterday was one of those days, we were all out in the new flower farm the kids were playing and the sun was shining, the flowers were bobbing up above the foliage like jewels and everything felt amazing.

Here’s a snip of Winter spraying a seaweed foliar feed on the lower leaves of the dahlias. It broke my heart watching her doing such a thorough job on the whole row, both sides. She didn’t miss a leaf (upper or under) 🥰

It’s been a wild (Wylde) ride this past year, moving, expanding the flower farm, working on the clothing side (plus working behind the scenes on the next leg in my venture🎉) all while trying to remember I’m a wife and mum first and foremost... So it was such a joy to see Wylde Florence clothing in the current issue of Homes & Interiors Scotland

Thank you so much to the team for including us - super exciting to see our first bit of press in print. Especially in such a gorgeous publication 🙏🏼

The girls are already asking for matching mini overalls to be added so I’ll get that on the list too 👌🏼
