** PENTYRCH HILL IS NOW OPEN WITH TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHTS **

Road Closure between Gwaelod y Garth and Pentyrch

Due to the Quarry 'Incident' / explosion yesterday afternoon, where part of Gwaelod Village and the main road - Heol Goch - had been flooded with muddy water and rubble, the road up to Pentyrch from Radyr and Junction 32 of M4 will remain closed for some time.

Please plan your journey to the Cattery via
Rhydlafar and Church Road from Llantrisant Road or over the mountain through Efail Isaf or Garth Hill (if you can manage the nasty bend!).

Our thoughts are with the families trying to deal with the aftermath today.

I’ll update on here when the Pentyrch hill is open again.

Right now, with the support of his family, one of our wonderful customers, Ian, is setting off on an incredible road trip across Europe all the way to Italy. He is doing so to raise money for Headway Cardiff & South East Wales. Ian is raising awareness and funds to help support others affected by brain injury.

Cool cats!

The temperature might be soaring outside but rest assured that we have ‘cool cats’ in the cattery! We always monitor temperatures three times a day as part of our daily routine and the design of our cattery means that, in summer, the temperature inside is always well below outside temperatures. Added to that, we’ve invested in cooling mats for those kitties who’d like it even cooler on a summer’s day 😽

** Update: Tommy has been rehomed. Thank you so much to those of you who shared the post **

Through no fault of his own, lovely Tommy is looking for a new home. His current family’s personal circumstances mean that they need to find a new, loving home for him and I know that it’s a heartbreaking decision for them.

Tommy is 12, fit and healthy. We have regularly looked after him at Pinecroft Cattery and, aside from being a handsome cat, he is a gentle sweetheart. He’s also one of the cleanest cats we have the privilege to look after. He currently lives in a maisonette so he’s a house cat and very content as one. With gentle introductions to outdoors and the right environment, he could of course go outside too. He has always been up to date with vaccinations and had regular vet checks. Tommy had a very recent stay with us and looks the picture of health.
