Know My Dog
PLEASE READ AND SHARE!! I’ve been working on this for 14 months, my efforts to improve dog/children safety has to be heard PLEASE 🙏

I’ve developed a SIMPLE yet impactful concept designed to improve safety and understanding between dogs and the public.
My idea is a colour-coded collar and lead flag that clearly communicates a dog’s temperament at a glance.
Red indicates a dog that is unapproachable or needs space
Green signals a dog that is friendly and safe to approach
This system provides an immediate visual cue, helping prevent unwanted interactions, reduce anxiety for dogs, and minimise the risk of incidents — particularly involving children who may not recognise behavioural warning signs..
Many people, especially children, struggle to interpret a dog’s body language. This can lead to unsafe interactions, stress for the dog, and in some cases, serious harm.
A universally recognisable colour system that removes guesswork and allows anyone to quickly understand whether it’s safe to approach a dog.

This idea has the potential to:
Improve public safety
Support responsible dog ownership
Reduce dog-related incidents
Create clearer communication between dog owners and the public

I will continue to aim to create colour-coded dog accessories a widely recognised standard, much like high-visibility clothing — simple, effective, and lifesaving, whilst educating children ❤️💚
