Aly has fully embraced the Zero Pain Philosophy and has spent many, many hours studying this year, continuing to build her knowledge of pain management and patient care.

Why all the extra studying? 🤔

Because she’s passionate about learning, developing her skills and doing everything she can to support our patients. 💙

We love seeing that commitment to continual learning is such a core value for our rehab team - and our patients benefit from it too! 🐾🥰

She’s swapped the rehab room for the VetEDGE Conference, where she’s busy educating veterinary nurses from practices across the country all about caring for patients with osteoarthritis! 🐾💙

We absolutely love that Nichi gets to share her knowledge and experience, helping veterinary teams improve the care they provide for their arthritic patients. 🥰

This beautiful little Collie has been seeing Nichi for a little while to help manage joint disease in her elbows.

She’s recently started hydrotherapy as part of her treatment plan, and we couldn’t resist giving you a little sneak peek before we share her full story!

My wonderful university friend Millie, a self-employed vet physio, was tragically kicked in the face by a horse, breaking her jaw and causing severe nerve damage.

She has been completely out of work for 10 weeks. On top of a slow and painful physical recovery, being self-employed means the financial strain is immense. I am hoping to raise some cash to ease her money worries so she can focus entirely on healing and getting back to the job she loves.

Meet Frankie 🐾

This handsome boy has quite the story to tell… ❤️

Frankie was diagnosed at just 6 months old with elbow dysplasia and OCD in his stifles, and had his first surgery at only 8 months old.

Over the years, he’s undergone seven surgeries on his left knee, even having a brace fitted along the way. Throughout it all, his amazing mum has gone above and beyond to give him the happiest, healthiest life possible. 🥹❤️

At 10 years old Frankie is now living with severe osteoarthritis, particularly affecting that troublesome left knee. But thanks to his incredible support team, he remains comfortable, happy and very much enjoying life! 🥰

A huge shoutout to everyone on Team Frankie:

🩺 The lovely vets at Bridge Vets Pontllanfraith Bridge Veterinary Group, who have worked hard to find the perfect combination of pain relief for him.

💜 Nichi, who has created a tailor-made rehabilitation plan to keep Frankie moving comfortably, including regular acupuncture — which, as you can see, he absolutely LOVES! 😴

🐾 And of course, Frankie’s wonderful mum, who continues to go above and beyond for her boy every single day.

It really does take a team, and Frankie is lucky to have such a fantastic one around him. ❤️

Meet the very handsome Frankie! 🥰

Frankie is clearly a firm believer in the benefits of acupuncture… because he was so relaxed during his treatment that he simply melted into the floor and fell asleep! 😴💙

Just look at that face! Frankie looks like he could happily stay there all day! 🐶💤

Meet Hero! 🐾

Hero is a handsome 7-year-old German Shepherd Dog who was referred to our rehab team following intermittent lameness. Further investigation revealed a ruptured cruciate ligament, meaning Hero needed surgery to get him back on the road to recovery.

Post-op rehab hasn’t always been easy… mainly because Hero is an energetic, explosive GSD who would much rather be doing ALL the things! 😂

Nichi created a tailor-made exercise recovery programme to gradually and safely get Hero back on his feet, while his owners worked incredibly hard to keep his brain busy and meet his enrichment needs during his period of restricted exercise. 💙

The good news? Hero’s post-operative X-rays are showing that his bone is healing really well, which means we can now increase his home exercise programme and start rebuilding the muscle he lost during his recovery. 💪

We’re absolutely delighted with Hero’s progress. And isn't he handsome?? 😍
