Freddie in for his physiotherapy appointment 😄
So sorry for not posting any photos of your lovely pets recently, social media has taken a backseat! Please keep sending me updates, pictures and videos of your pets doing their exercises in between sessions as I always love to see and hear how they're doing ❤️

🐾 New logo 🐾
Far left is poppy the cockapoo, who, as most know, inspired me to start a career in veterinary nursing and physiotherapy, my little angel who I think of every day❤️

Percy my little sweet ginger boy who was a stray found in bins, thought he only had a few months to live but here he is over 2 years later, doing amazingly well 🐈

Then there's freddie who is also a rescue, an absolute crazy boy who I love more than anything, he is the best demonstration dog for all the physio exercises, has taught me so much about canine behaviour (he tests my patience every day 😅) and is the best cuddle buddy 🧡

Thank you ❤️🐾

I truly love seeing every single one of them 🥰. This month will be 3 years of MLP animal physiotherapy and I can't thank you all enough for trusting me to look after your lovely pets 🫶

Super proud of Rox ❤️
A little picture to show her beautiful face and then the following three video clips show her progress from mid January to yesterday.

I am so pleased with how well she's doing and her owners are over the moon.

Rox isn't very food motivated and started off quite nervous, so physio exercises were limited. We concentrated our efforts on a very structured walking plan, laser therapy sessions, heat therapy and home adaptations 🐾

You can see in the first video clip she is very lame in her left hind leg. In the second clip her tail is held to the left and she is still offloading that left hind. The third clip is yesterday where she is much more comfortable and her tail is in a more neutral position. She's back to doing her favourite walks on the beach ⛱️☀️

A little greyhound/ lurcher love 🩵
Everyone knows I have a soft spot for these long legged crazy doggos. Having a lurcher myself means I understand the random quirks 😄❤️

So this rug lasted less than 24 hours...
Let’s talk rugs and runners🐾
It might sound like a boring (and slightly odd) topic, but it’s actually incredibly important for our pets❤️
I made a mistake today. We needed a new rug for the living room, and I thought I’d done everything right. I checked the backing, made sure it was labelled non-slip, and even used a rug underlay for extra grip.

The problem? The top layer is SO soft that even I felt a little cautious walking on it.
Sure enough, Freddie turned on the rug and his elbow slid outwards at a slightly awkward angle. Nothing serious happened, and he wasn’t injured, but that one movement was enough to make me rethink things.

If we kept this rug, he’d be repeating that same subtle slipping motion over and over again. Over time, those little slips can put strain on muscles, stress joints, and increase the risk of injury.
So the rug is going, and in the meantime I’ll be covering the floor with non-slip yoga mats and runners instead.

Why does this matter?
✅️ Helps protect joints
✅️ Reduces the risk of slips and injuries
✅️ Provides a softer landing when pets jump on and off furniture
✅️ Gives them confidence and grip when they decide to launch around the living room😅

Sometimes the smallest changes in our homes can make the biggest difference to our pets long term comfort and mobility🩵

Cats can do physio too! 🐈‍⬛️🫶
Physiotherapy isn't just for dogs (and humans). There are so many benefits, including improving mobility and joint range of motion to helping with arthritis, injury recovery, pain management and post-operative rehab.

This can help them feel more comfortable and gives you something fun to do with them 😄

One came for treatment, the other came for treats and vibes 😅 guess which one? 😂❤️
