Happy Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Day to Noelle! 🌟

We are sure all our clients appreciate her just as much as we do for wrangling our hectic diary, the phones, the payments, and the everyday chaos - all while keeping a cool head no matter what. You're a problem-solving genius, and we appreciate the heck out of you! 🐾✨

(And thank you for handling the wildest animals in the clinic... and we don't just mean the patients! 🤣)

🐾 Pet of the Month: Little Poppy! 🍂

Favourite activities: Short stroll these days being an old lady. 🐕

Favourite Toy : Squeaky Bone. 🦴

Favourite Treat: Banana. 🍌

Special Talent: Making us all Happy. 🌞

Meet Poppy, a sweet pug who was referred to SMART Veterinary Referrals following hindlimb weakness. Her dedicated owners brought her to us to start her physio rehab journey and build back her strength. 💙

A huge shoutout to Poppy’s owners, who have been working hard at home with a staple exercise all SMART clients know well: the Proprioceptive (Prop) Track! 💪

While this exercise looks simple, it plays a massive role in recovery:

✨ Rebuilds Body Awareness: Different surfaces forces the brain to recognise where paws are in space.

✨ Retrains Gait Reflexes: Stimulates nerves in paw pads to get automatic movement patterns working again.

✨ Balances Weight Distribution: Encourages equal weight on all four legs: very imortant for many dogs who compensate with their front legs!

✨ Strengthens Stabilisers & Joints: Engages deep core and hip muscles while building range of motion without joint impact.

Well done to Poppy and her lovely humans for all their hard work - we're so proud of her! ❤️🐶✨

🚗 Important Update for Cardiff Clinic Visitors!

*** Update - Official Diversion from Rover Way to Lamby Way - a lane closure has been installed at Lamby Way roundabout. Instead of turning directly on to Lamby Way, continue straight along Southern Way towards the Llanedeyrn roundabout, loop all the way around it and come back down Southern Way to take the dedicated slip road onto Lamby Way.

Please note that flood repair roadworks are currently underway on Lamby Way and will continue until February. If you have an upcoming appointment with us, we recommend allowing extra travel time.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to seeing you soon! 💙
