We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly ophthalmology referral team in the beautiful Kent countryside. Whether you’re newly qualified or experienced, if you love delivering exceptional patient care, we’d really like to hear from you.

✨ What we offer:
• Salary from £28,000 full‑time (pro‑rata for part‑time)
• 5 weeks’ holiday + bank holidays + long‑service days
• Funded CPD (including advanced anaesthesia qualifications)
• RCVS fees + AVA nurse membership covered
• Supportive team + part‑time ANA to streamline workload
• Full training provided — referral experience not essential as full support is offered

📋 Role details:
• Full‑time or part‑time considered
• Part‑time: ideally Tues, Wed & Thurs (24 hours), with scope for more if wished
• On‑call: 1 in 5 weekends for referred surgical patients only, no in- patient care required & no weeknights on‑call
• Ideal for someone enthusiastic, compassionate, and keen to learn

EVR's own 'The Rabbit & The Tortoise' tale! Tuesday saw a planned visit by the gorgeous Moonlight, a Lop, to see Miguel....however, unbeknownst to Moonlight's owner, a cheeky addition to the visit was waiting inside the carry box! Adorable Rainbow the tortoise had crept into the carry box when no-one was looking, and kept Moonlight company on the journey to EVR!
On arrival, the team had Rainbow out for a cool wander around the prep room, and marvelled at the amazing colours in their carapace! Not a species that typically needs our help, but not the first tortoise we have seen, as a few years ago a member of the public found a stray tortoise on the Elham Valley Road! It was a delight having both Rainbow & Moonlight in to the clinic 🐢🐇🥰

The weather is set to be very hot & humid this week, posing health risks for our patients especially snub-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds such as Bulldogs, Pugs, and French Bulldogs & breeds with thick fur such as Huskies, Chow Chows & Newfoundlands.

If you would rather bring your dog in on a cooler day, please call the clinic on 01303 840499 and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment. There is always water available for visiting dogs, and if you are concerned please do let a member of staff know.

If you think your dog is suffering from heat stroke or heat exhaustion, cool them immediately with cold water & seek veterinary help.

The second of May's Bank Holiday weekends is upon us, and what a lovely weekend it promises to be! 🥵🌞🌴

EVR will be closing at 5.30pm on Friday 22nd May, and re-open at 9am on Tuesday 26th May. 🍹🏖️

If you are an existing client with a pet under treatment with us & are in need of urgent / emergency advice, or a vet wishing to refer an emergency case, please call 01303 840499 to be put through to the on call ophthalmologist 🚨👀🚨

Please be aware that we do not have an out of hours team - our day staff cover on call & out of hours so if it is not an urgent / emergency issue, please do call us during our open hours / after the weekend. Thank you! 😊

Happy May Day! We hope all our clients & patients are enjoying the gorgeous sunshine on this May Day, and we wish you all a very happy bank holiday weekend!

The clinic will be closing at 5.30pm and we will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 5th May.
