🐴 MEET THE TEAM

🤎 FRED

Codename: The Rising Star

📏 16hh 8-year-old Bay Connemara

Meet the youngest member of our team… and one with a very bright future ahead of him.

When Fred first arrived, he was incredibly green in the school. Turning a corner was a challenge, and everything was new to him. Fast forward to today, and the transformation has been amazing.

In the 12 months Fred spent training with Kim he has discovered a real love for jumping. He’s growing in confidence every week, has started heading out for training, and approaches every fence with a fearless attitude. If there’s a jump in front of him, chances are he’ll happily clear it!

One thing you’ll notice straight away is just how friendly he is. Fred absolutely adores people—sometimes even more than other horses! Although his best friend, Valley, is the exception. The two are rarely far apart.

He’s endlessly curious and wants to know what’s going on all the time. The only downside? His concentration lasts about 30 seconds before something else catches his eye!

🦸 Superpower

Learning fast and tackling every new challenge with confidence.

🐴 Best Friend

Valley ❤️

😂 Weakness

Gets distracted by absolutely everything!

Thinking Differently in a Traditional Industry 💭🐴

On Monday, Kay had the pleasure of being invited to speak at the annual **BHS Proprietors Conference at British Horse Society HQ**, sharing insights from Rockstar Equine and her approach to running a modern, forward-thinking equestrian business.

Her session, *“Thinking Differently in a Traditional Industry,”* explored how riding schools can work smarter, make the most of their horses, teams, facilities and systems, and create stronger commercial opportunities while continuing to develop their people and learn from industries beyond the equestrian world.

At Rockstar, we believe that looking at things differently can open up new opportunities, challenge traditional ways of working and help build a stronger future for our industry.

But one thing will always remain at the heart of everything we do:

🐴 **Horse welfare at the centre. Commercial sustainability around it.**

It was a fantastic opportunity for Kay to share Rockstar’s journey, exchange ideas with fellow proprietors and contribute to important conversations about the future of the equestrian industry.

A huge thank you to British Horse Society for the invitation and for creating opportunities for proprietors to learn, share and inspire one another.

🐴 MEET THE TEAM

🤍 EVE “EVIE”

Codename: The Mighty Mini 🦸‍♀️

📏 13.2hh | 17-year-old Piebald Cob Mare

Meet one of the smallest members of our team… but don’t tell Evie that! 🤍

Known around the yard as Evie (or sometimes Stevie), she’s proof that big things really do come in small packages. But behind this little pony’s cheeky personality is a pretty special story. ❤️

At just 6 years old, Evie was rescued by a charity called SPEAR alongside her foal at foot. Believed to have been found by the side of the road, she was severely emaciated and had a long way to go before she could start a new chapter in life.

Once her foal was weaned, the charity began the process of backing Evie, helping her learn a whole new skill. We were lucky enough to welcome her to Rockstar when she was 8 years old, and she’s been making her mark ever since! 🥹🤍

Today, Evie is one of our much-loved riding school ponies, helping our youngest riders build confidence and become braver in the saddle. She’s also the number one choice for her favourite person, Grace! 🫶

Although she’s little, Evie is full of character. She’s quick around the arena, absolutely loves jumping with Grace, and never says no to an adventure.

When Pony Day comes around, she’s always happy to be dressed up and soak up all the attention. If there’s a fancy-dress costume or some glitter involved, Evie is more than happy to join in! 🎀✨

And like a true cob, food is never far from her mind! She enjoys her treats a little too much, and we’re pretty sure she’d happily work an extra shift if snacks were involved. 🥕😂

From a severely emaciated rescue pony to a much-loved member of the Rockstar team, Evie is a lovely reminder of just how much a second chance can mean. 🤍

🦸 SUPERPOWER

Proving that confidence, courage and heart have absolutely nothing to do with size.

🎀 FAVOURITE THINGS

Pony Day, dressing up, jumping with Grace and plenty of tasty treats.

😂 WEAKNESS

She’s never met a snack she didn’t like!

“She might be one of the smallest on the yard, but she’s got a story, a personality and a heart bigger than most.” 🤍
