🐾 Finalists will be informed on 24th July and announced publicly shortly after!
🐾 Winners are announced on Saturday 3rd October

We finished on a whopping 865 nominations! 🫪 a huge well done to every single nominee and a massive thank you to all of you who took the time to nominate someone wonderful.

We never expected it to get so popular so quickly! But we are so so grateful 🥹.

We are absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news! 🎉
Last year, we launched our very first competition, and we have now been shortlisted for the Liz Paul Awards! 🏆
This competition holds such a special place in our hearts. Our goal was to create a welcoming and supportive environment for beginners to step into the world of competing, build confidence, showcase their talents, and enjoy the experience. Seeing so many smiling faces, new friendships, achievements, and moments of pure happiness made every bit of hard work worthwhile.
We're also incredibly proud to announce that the founders of the competition have been recognised individually too:
✨ Kara has been shortlisted for I'm a Groomer – All Round Stylist
✨ Ellie-Mai has been shortlisted for Up and Coming Stylist
Both work tirelessly behind the scenes, dedicating countless hours to making opportunities like this possible, and this recognition is so well deserved.
This year, we're excited to have Kayleigh joining the team to help make the competition even bigger and better. We can't wait to welcome even more competitors and continue creating a positive and encouraging space for groomers at the start of their competition journey.

‼️ NOMINATIONS CLOSING THIS FRIDAY ‼️

We’ve had to make a decision to close nominations this Friday as we have SO many of you wonderful people nominated that we have so much talent to go through already 🩷

Nominees are still being contacted so please don’t worry if you’ve not heard from us just yet. As of this coming Friday, we will then begin confirming with people who have submitted their nomination form. We are aware that some categories send a confirmation and some don’t so we want to check with you that we have your right submissions 🐶

Once you’re nominated, you’ll receive a link to a form for you to provide some more information for our Reviewing Team. You have until 5th July to get this submitted back to us 🐾

We won’t be following up with those we’ve not heard from, so if you’re not filling your form in as soon as you get it, but do want to be put forward for review, please remember to do this! 🐱

We just want to take a moment to say thank you, and also a huge hello to everyone who has joined us over the past couple of weeks.

We are absolutely astounded by the interest in our awards. As of right now we are at an incredible 743 nominations! That’s 743 people who have taken the time to nominate a well deserving groomer. Just take a moment to let that sink in and to realise in this industry times can be challenging, but there are so many of you who are so valued and loved by others.

We are happy that you believe there is a place for this too. Honestly, you all mean the world to us and you’ve made us feel like huge winners. We can’t wait to make some of you winners too!

We still have a lot of nominations to get through - please don’t worry if you’ve not heard from us just yet! Fridays are our admin day, but we are hoping to get a couple more nominees informed this week.

NEW AWARD CATEGORY - UNSUNG HERO
When Kara got a message from a fellow groomer asking if there were any Award categories for the Unsung Heroes - we didn't hesitate to spring into action!
These Awards are for you and recognising the talent in our industry, so it's only right we hear your feedback and act on it where we can.

The Unsung Hero - is the individual who goes above and beyond in the workplace. They're not a business owner, and may not be a groomer, but they are instrumental to the day to day running and supporting.

FAQ’s in our inbox this weekend 🐾 PS stay tuned on Friday for a brand new category!!!! 👏🏼

⭐️Our awards are free to enter and accept!
The purpose of our awards is to reach every pet groomer we can and charging for our awards would go against everything we stand for as small business owners our self 🩷
The only caveat is that if you can’t attend the awards we would charge £30 for delivery of your trophy and certificate.

⭐️Do I have to be at the awards?
Being at the awards doesn’t affect your ability to win! ⭐️ we already have international nominees and we wouldn’t expect you to travel all the way to little old Cambridgeshire for them!

⭐️Who is the judging panel?
These are people who are not actively grooming or competing but have a passion, knowledge and care for the industry. We will share our panel with you once our finalists have been announced.

⭐️How are they judged?
We are blind judging! That means that we bring together all of the information you’ve submitted, and then we take your name away from the information. We want to reduce bias as much as possible, so by taking your name off the nomination you’ll be looked at equally.

What a day! I've had the absolute best time sharing the nomination news from our nominations so far!
One thing that shocks me is how surprised you all are! YOU ARE DOING SO WELL and so many people appreciate you for the work you're doing. It's going to be so incredibly tough for the Reviewing Team!

There's a couple of you who I can't find on facebook/your business page. I'll sit down with Kara next week to make sure we find you! If you know you've been nominated but haven't received a message from me (Kayleigh Newson), please let us know by dropping us a message on here!

FINALLY, thank you for today - honestly I feel so proud of each and every one of you and hope that you really take a moment to congratulate yourself this long weekend.
