⚠️Warning - content of surgical nature ⚠️

🌽🐶 Sid’s holiday didn’t quite go to plan!

Sid, a lovely Cocker Spaniel, was enjoying a holiday with his owners when he decided to eat something he really shouldn’t have - a corn on the cob.

When Sid started vomiting, which was very unusual for him, his owners brought him to us for investigation.

This photo shows the moment we opened Sid’s abdomen and found the whole corn on the cob inside! 🌽😮

⚠️ Corn on the cob can be extremely dangerous for dogs. Dogs cannot properly digest the cob, and it can become lodged in the stomach or intestines, causing a potentially life-threatening blockage.

Thankfully, Sid made it through surgery and is now recovering with his family. ❤️🐾

How cute are these three? 🐶💕

Rosie, Buddy and Frieda all came in to see us for their kennel cough vaccinations.

The kennel cough vaccine is administered into the nostril and helps protect against the most common causes of infectious kennel cough. It’s a quick, effective way to help keep your dog healthy, especially if they spend time around other dogs at kennels, daycare, training classes or parks. 🐾💙

This is sweet 6-month-old Daf. 💕

She came in to be spayed, and we’re pleased to say that everything went smoothly. She was a brave girl throughout, and we wish her a speedy and comfortable recovery! 🐾💖

💛 Meet Stella! 💛

This gorgeous Basset Hound visits us every month for her immunotherapy injections, and she’s always an absolute superstar. 🐶✨

Despite her frequent visits, Stella takes everything in her stride. She’s such a good girl and waits patiently for her tasty treats once her injection is over! 🍖🥰

👂 What are ear mites?

Ear mites are tiny parasites that live in the ear canals of pets, most commonly cats, but they can also affect dogs, rabbits and ferrets. Although they’re microscopic to the naked eye, they can cause significant irritation and discomfort.

Common signs include:
🐾 Excessive scratching at the ears
🐾 Head shaking
🐾 Dark, waxy discharge that looks like coffee grounds
🐾 Red, inflamed ears

The good news is that ear mites are easily diagnosed during an examination and can usually be treated effectively with the right medication.

Champions! What a night. The Ressie’s are this year’s winners of the Ken Garner cup after a brilliant final against Longstanton, and we couldn't be prouder of our lads.

A huge thank you to all four teams for making the tournament what it was. Bar Hill, Swavesey and Longstanton, every one of you played your part in a fantastic competition. Ken would have really enjoyed all four games!

Thank you as well to everyone who came down to support throughout the week and it was great to see so many turn out for the final.
