If you’re watching this thinking you completely f*cked up your dog’s socialisation window as a puppy, please don’t punish yourself.
Your dog can be Retrained & Resocialised!
When I was an owner I used to think socialisation was 20
Dogs playing together in the middle of a park, until that led to my dog not being able to play - AT ALL! In fact far from it they had to wear a muzzle & were reactive.
I made those mistakes, but it lead me to then retraining my own dog which in turn resocialised them!
Now I’ve done the same to 100s of others, all included in the video used to be reactive & gone through Residential Training with me & transformed from highly reactive into being able to go on walks with others or happily by themselves with the person walking them!
They don’t roughhouse 24/7 in fact they played for a couple of seconds which was a rare but very sweet moment as they are all so happy coexisting and measured & then 2 secs later all went to sniff the same spot, kinda like dogs would do in the wild but instead it’s in a public park with loads of other distractions.
It’s never too late to train your dog and reconcile their behaviour no matter how severe it feels rn & if you’re hung up on feeling like you’ve fcked up there socialisation!
