Canines Behaving Badly Experienced, qualified, force free, fear free Clinical Animal Behaviourist. (Canine) You will then be given some tasks to complete to start you on your journey.

1 on 1 Sessions

A 1 on 1 session will take at least 1 hour and a maximum of 2 hours, this all depends on how much the dog is able to retain, over teaching is not going to help whereas focusing on few key areas will be more beneficial. Please be aware it’s as much about teaching you, the owner as it is your dog, so the length of time the session lasts also depends on how much information you can retain too. When booking a 1 on 1 session, we will decide upon a place to meet that is safe for your dog and all concerned. You will need to fill out a comprehensive form about your dog, this information will help me formulate a plan to help you. I can learn a lot from their food, history and home life before I even meet them. Online Session

A zoom session works well as a basis to start your behavioural improvement journey with your dog. I am able to learn a lot from the comprehensive form you will have filled out and by just talking to you about your dog. It’s strongly recommended that a physical 1 to 1 is booked as a follow up to ensure we are making an improvement. Once a zoom call has been booked you will receive a zoom link and password for the date and time we have agreed upon.

Gorgeous Poppy on the left here, I’ve been working with for a few weeks. She reacts defensively around other dogs. She been great when introduced correctly, including my Murphy. Yesterday I ‘borrowed’ a dog to help her generalise her behaviour. This is Alfie on the right and he was great with her. When I asked his owner if I could borrow him for a little walk, her answer was unsurprisingly ‘anytime’😂😂 well done both.

I saw giraffe 🦒 boy Rex this week. He’s doing great with his reactivity to other dogs. His owner is a first time dog owner, and it reminds me that our first dog is a steep learning curve and we’ve all been through it at some point. Well done team giraffe 🦒!!

This lovely bunch left to right are Stan Brema Bo and Haru. There’s been some tension recently between Stan and Haru so here we are safety walking them to get them spending small amounts of positive time together. We have put into place plenty of management to avoid incidents whilst we work on their relationship and counter conditioning their feelings towards each other.

I got to see Paddie for a follow up this week and his owners are pleased with his progress. Here he is saying hello to Maple and Honey, letting a dog safely interact with other animals helps satisfy their curiosity, he’s such a lovely soul. I got a lovely email from his owners after his session, I’m not saying I need my ego flattering all the time, but it is sometimes nice!!!

If you’re gonna talk the talk you must walk the walk!! I’m always banging on about making sure that our dogs receive good veterinary care and receiving examinations when appropriate. Here I am with my boy Murphy with the lovely Donna Paragon Pets receiving his laser therapy. Murphy was diagnosed with osteoarthritis early this year and I am adamant that I will make sure he is a comfortable as is possible as he gets older. Donna makes this minimally invasive procedure as stress free as possible and Murphy loves to see her. As an aside, Murphy is now 11 and he has been a fit and healthy dog so has had minimal need to see a vet and I want to make sure as he gets older that he doesn’t become apprehensive of the clinic as he will invariably need more treatment as he gets older.

I was with beautiful Ivy yesterday across the border. Here she is being handled by her 11 year old owner. They both smashed it. We were practicing at a service station which is not her normal environment, but it’s called proofing, which is teaching Ivy that her new behaviour needs to be done everywhere not just her normal environment.

This stunner is 10 month old rescue girl Bramble. She’s young, she’s energetic and super friendly. She is showing signs of frustration towards other dogs. She wants to say hello to every dog and people, but because she’s bouncy not every dog and person wants that, so we worked on impulse control which she did great with. But because she’s bouncy is showing frustration we need her to be able to let her say hello sometimes appropriately otherwise the frustration builds. Well done Bramble.

This handsome boy is 18 month old rescue Foss. He is terrified of people bless him. He was born in an overseas rescue so has not been badly treated but he didn’t receive early socialisation. It’s reported his siblings are similar so there is also likely a genetic element at play too. He’s got great owners that are going to help him and he’s already made great progress. 👏 I can’t wait to help him further.

I had a follow up with handsome Bailey last week and his pal Pablo. Both dogs are entire and there’s been a little tension between them. We took a walk which is really bonding and because they have room to move around it is less intense than in the house. Well done boys.

I had a follow up with gorgeous Poppy last week. Poppy is reacting towards other dogs so my Murphy came along to help her. She had briefly met Murphy the day before and she was great with him both days. Familiarity is helping her cope, we just need her to meet more dogs positively.
